Founded in 1995, Shanghai STEP Electric Co., Ltd. was listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 2010 (Stock Code: 002527). In June 2025, Haier Group strategically invested in STEP, making it an ecological brand in the robotics industry under the Haier Group.

STEP is an industrial intelligent technology company focusing on productivity innovation. It always adheres to the brand vision of "Technology Empowers Humans, and Ecosystem Wins the Future". The company focuses on motion control technology centered on algorithms and software, builds an industrial AI capability platform covering perception, control, execution and intelligent decision-making, promotes the deep integration of artificial intelligence with real industrial scenarios, and reimagine productivity.

Innovation is the core driving force for the long-term development of STEP. The company has established R&D centers in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Xi'an, Hangzhou and Germany, as well as a Postdoctoral Research Workstation. Its Technical Center Laboratory has obtained the national CNAS accreditation. STEP is a member of the National Robot Standardization General Group and the National Elevator Standardization Technical Committee, and is deeply involved in the formulation and revision of more than 60 national and industry technical standards. Up to now, the company has 6 "Specialized, Fine, Special and New" (Little Giant) enterprises and has accumulated more than 1,100 national authorized patents, invention patents and software copyrights.

Focusing on the real economy and always putting users first, STEP focuses on three major fields: smart elevators, general automation and robotics. Its products and solutions are widely used in 3C electronics, lithium battery, semiconductors, photovoltaic, automotive, logistics, engineering machinery, elevators, HVAC and other industries and market segments. The company has set up more than 20 subsidiaries, including STEP Robotics, STEP Intelligent Technology, Shanghai STEP Sigriner Electric, Shenzhen Adtech, Yixin International, Hong Kong International STEP, STEP Sigriner Electronik GmbH, and SAM(Malaysia) (Joint Venture). The service network covers more than 110 countries and regions worldwide.

R&D and Marketing

STEP places great emphasis on research and development, having established R&D centers in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Xi'an, Hangzhou, and Germany. It also operates a postdoctoral research workstation and its technical center laboratory is accredited by the national CNAS. The company has participated in the drafting and revision of numerous national and industry technical standards. To date, it has obtained over 1,200 authorized patents—including utility model patents, invention patents, and software copyrights.

Based in its Shanghai headquarters, STEP is pursuing a global strategy and has established more than 20 subsidiaries both domestically and internationally, including STEP Robotics, STEP Intelligent Technology, Singringa STEP Motors, Anhui STEP Cables, Xi'an STEP High-end Equipment Manufacturing Software Applications, Yixin (Shanghai) International Trade, Shanghai Baijiang Intelligence, Shenzhen Zhongweixing, STEP Industrial Control Technology, Hong Kong International STEP, Germany STEP Electric, Japan's STEP JP Co., Ltd., and Malaysia's Singringa Automation. In the future, STEP plans to further expand its global presence and continue to explore new markets worldwide.
