Xinhua News Agency reported: Since the outbreak of this wave of the epidemic, Shanghai New Motion Robot Super Factory has maintained continuous production. “As of May 27,” said Wu Yuhui, Director and General Manager of Shanghai New Motion Electric Co., Ltd., “Shanghai New Motion’s four factories—including the Robot Super Factory—have been operating continuously.” Capacity has recovered to between 75% and 85% of normal capacity.

To ensure the safety of production and operations during the pandemic, the company has implemented strict closed-loop production management. Volunteer staff were organized within the factory premises to conduct nucleic acid sampling, and by April 21, the company had developed its own capacity for autonomous nucleic acid testing. Each factory site has also set up dedicated isolation areas for newly hired employees. These employees must undergo at least three days of silent quarantine, with daily antigen and nucleic acid tests showing no abnormalities before they are allowed to join the production lines. Public areas within the factory sites are regularly disinfected using ozone and ultraviolet lamps. At the same time, the logistics process is strictly controlled, with incoming materials promptly disinfected and subjected to a period of silent quarantine.
Since the very beginning of the lockdown, Wu Yuhui, Director and General Manager of STEP, along with certain members of the management team, took the lead in staying on-site at the factory. As a result, during the pandemic, STEP entire management system continued to operate smoothly. Under the framework of epidemic prevention and control management grids, the company closely monitored the status of each employee, ensuring that the enterprise could maintain efficient operations during the resumption of work and production and maximize business recovery—thus also safeguarding employees’ livelihoods and incomes. At the same time, the company has consistently prioritized logistical support for employees stationed at the factory, making meticulous arrangements. For employees who have been stationed at the factory for more than one month, the company proactively applies for复工证 (work resumption permits) on their behalf, creating favorable conditions for arranging rotational rest periods later on.
To ensure timely delivery of orders to customers, STEP is gradually breaking through bottlenecks such as production halts at upstream local suppliers and logistical challenges in cross-regional supply. At the same time, it is also vigorously promoting... BCP mode (Business Continuity Plan, or Business Continuity Plan). For example, on April 15, STEPeng purchased equipment and materials for its Hangzhou factory and transferred the production capacity of Shanghai elevator control cabinets to the Hangzhou facility, enabling it to serve customers in Hangzhou and surrounding areas more quickly. On May 4, STEPeng obtained inter-provincial truck passes, thereby establishing smooth cross-provincial logistics connections with both Hangzhou and Suzhou. Currently, STEP has achieved collaborative production of certain products across its factories in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, and other locations, as well as coordinated supply of raw materials following a “two points, one line” model. STEP spared no expense to ensure the basic smooth flow of logistics even during the peak of the pandemic.
