On January 9, 2023, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization released the list of municipal-level design innovation centers for 2022. After self-application by enterprises and review at both the municipal and district levels, 57 municipal-level design innovation centers and 11 candidate centers for cultivation were identified. STEP has successfully been included on the list of municipal-level design innovation centers.
List of Municipal-Level Design Innovation Centers for 2022
The Corporate Design Innovation Center serves as a vital platform for design innovation activities in the industrial sector. By leveraging these centers, enterprises can fully harness the driving power and empowering effects of design innovation. In accordance with the "Administrative Measures for the Recognition of National-level Industrial Design Centers (Trial)" issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT Industry [2012] No. 422) and the deployment plan for Shanghai’s development as a “City of Design,” and with the aim of further fostering market entities in the city’s design industry, enhancing the quality of design services, and highlighting the empowering and driving roles of design innovation, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization launched the recognition process for municipal-level Design Innovation Centers for the year 2022 starting from September 2022.
