National Demonstration Enterprise for Technological Innovation | STEP Passes Re-evaluation and Assessment

On September 18, 2018, the “2018 China Manufacturing Innovation Conference,” themed “Openness, Cooperation, Innovation, and Development,” was held in Guangzhou. Li Xi, Secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee, Miao Wei, Minister of Industry and Information Technology, and Ma Xingrui, Governor of Guangdong Province, attended the conference and delivered speeches.
Minister Miao Wei pointed out that building a manufacturing powerhouse and implementing innovation-driven development are key measures. Accelerating the construction of a national manufacturing innovation system centered on manufacturing innovation centers, continuously breaking through critical and common technologies that constrain the development of manufacturing, and comprehensively enhancing manufacturing’s innovation capabilities and international competitiveness are strategic priorities for helping China’s manufacturing industry climb new heights and undergo transformation and upgrading.
This year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology conducted a re-evaluation of the 150 “National Technological Innovation Demonstration Enterprises” that were recognized and had passed the review in 2015. Among these enterprises, 146 passed the re-evaluation, while 4 did not. During this conference, the Ministry awarded bronze plaques to the “National Technological Innovation Demonstration Enterprises” that had successfully passed the 2018 re-evaluation.
As one of the representative national technology innovation demonstration enterprises in the Shanghai region, STEP participated in this conference and was awarded the bronze plaque for “National Technology Innovation Demonstration Enterprise.”
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology emphasized that enterprises undergoing the re-evaluation as National Demonstration Enterprises for Technological Innovation should earnestly play a leading role as models, improve their institutional frameworks, increase investment in technological innovation, strengthen efforts to tackle key core technologies, continuously enhance their independent innovation capabilities, and truly become the main players in innovation.
