The 7th Session of the First Council of the Shanghai Robotics Industry Association and the 2017 Members’ General Meeting were held on February 25 in Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province, with over 70 representatives from member units of the association in attendance.
Association Members' General Meeting
The Association’s Members’ General Meeting was chaired by Secretary-General Meng Li. Dai Liu, President of the Association, delivered a keynote work report titled “Seize Opportunities, Take Initiative, and Contribute to Building Shanghai into a High-Tech Hub for the Robotics Industry.” The report summarized the Association’s work in 2016 and outlined key priorities for 2017. The report emphasized that members are the cornerstone of the Association, and the success of industry associations hinges on the level of member engagement and the extent to which members’ value is recognized and realized. Member organizations and industry associations form a community of shared interests; within the association, they not only share in successes but also shoulder responsibilities and demonstrate their value. To effectively serve members, it is essential first and foremost to highlight and leverage the unique value that each member brings. When building platforms, it is crucial to reflect members’ market value—thus, the association should establish cooperative platforms between producers and consumers, thereby fostering market value. Finally, focusing on social benefits means fully embodying societal value.

The seventh session of the association’s board of directors for this term was chaired by President Dai Liu. The meeting heard reports including “The Association’s 2016 Work Summary and Key Tasks for 2017,” and also discussed and approved additions to the list of vice-presidential units and vice-presidents. Following this election, Shanghai STEP Robot Co., Ltd. was elected as a vice-presidential unit, and the company’s General Manager, Cai Liang, was elected as a vice-president of the association.
