The 2021 Shanghai Top 100 Enterprises List has been released, and STEP has made the cut in four different rankings.

On August 26, the 2021 Shanghai Top 100 Enterprises Press Conference was held, jointly organized by the Shanghai Enterprise Confederation, the Shanghai Entrepreneurs Association, the Shanghai Federation of Economic Organizations, and the Liberation Daily. At the conference, several lists were released, including the 2021 Shanghai Top 100 Enterprises and the 2021 Shanghai Top 100 Manufacturing Enterprises. Shanghai STEP Electric Co., Ltd. has successfully been shortlisted for four rankings.
Amidst the general economic contraction or slowdown in growth experienced by major global economies in 2020, Shanghai’s Top 100 enterprises achieved steady growth in their business performance. In particular, the newly established Shanghai Top 100 Enterprises in Emerging Industries showed particularly rapid growth. According to statistics, the operating scale of Shanghai’s Top 100 enterprises expanded steadily in 2020, with total business revenues reaching 8,474.1 billion yuan—a year-on-year increase of 4.62%. This growth rate significantly exceeded both the national and Shanghai GDP growth rates. In 2020, STEPeng achieved business revenues of 3.957 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 11.97%.
It is reported that the Shanghai Top 100 companies share a distinct common characteristic: they place greater emphasis on high-quality development, leveraging technology to enhance productivity and drive further growth in business performance. This trend reflects the tangible results being achieved by Shanghai’s Top 100 enterprises through innovation-driven approaches, industrial upgrading, and transformative development. Relying on improving employee quality and management efficiency, as well as on technological innovation and equipment upgrades and replacements, has become the primary driving force behind expanding enterprise scale and enhancing enterprise quality. This represents a strong signal of positive and robust business performance among Shanghai’s Top 100 companies.
