Application of the Xindashida SR20/1700 Robot in Laser Cutting for the Automotive Components Industry

2025-07-25

The SR20/1700 robot from Xindashida’s SR series, paired with a domestically produced head-mounted laser and cutting head, forms a complete cutting solution. In this project, it successfully replaced imported brands, enabling the customer to save over 200,000 yuan.

Project Background

Cut into small circles—experts call this the touchstone of robotic precision.

Among numerous high-difficulty industrial applications, using lasers to cut perfectly small circles has long served as an ultimate test of the trajectory accuracy and control capabilities of industrial robots. The smaller the diameter of the circle, the higher the demands placed on the robot’s precise positioning and trajectory-tracking abilities. It is precisely for this reason that, in industries such as automotive parts—where precision requirements are exceptionally high—the application of laser-cut small circles has always been regarded by international robotics brands as a sacred domain, off-limits to all others.

As the pace of high-level domestic substitution accelerates, Xinsida, which masters core robotic technologies, has, after long-term practical exploration and through innovative algorithms and optimized mechanical structures, significantly enhanced the precision and rigidity required for cutting small circles, thereby breaking through this technological bottleneck in one fell swoop.

Customer needs

With the advancement of technology and growing market demand in the laser cutting industry, the sector is currently facing the following pain points:

• Insufficient accuracy and stability: Lack of high-precision requirements and dynamic compensation capability

• Process complexity and efficiency bottlenecks: the conflict between human dependency and flexible production;

• System Integration and Cost Control: Domestic Substitution Ecosystem Compatibility

Xinshida Solution

Proposal Description

The new Shida SR series SR20/1700 robot, paired with a domestically produced head-mounted laser and cutting head, forms a complete cutting solution.

Scheme advantages

• Through innovative algorithms, Xindashida has significantly improved both absolute positioning accuracy and positioning accuracy with variable posture at fixed points. The small-circle accuracy can reach 0.15 mm, and the joint position error is as low as 0.03°.

• Leading error modeling and absolute accuracy compensation technologies enable precise positioning of the robot’s end-effector.

• Self-learning backlash hysteresis compensation technology: The system automatically adjusts the compensation parameters to achieve optimal compensation performance.

• To address trajectory accuracy errors caused by servo control, a high-precision dynamic model and advanced torque feedforward technology have been introduced.

• The combined simulation of statics and dynamics lays a solid foundation for robots to achieve high-precision operations.

• The quick-teaching graphic library now comes with a standalone laser cutting process package, accelerating project progress.

Scheme Composition

The project is equipped with 10 sets of Xindash SR series SR20/1700 units.

Project Results

After debugging was completed, the customer gave high praise.

• Successfully replaced imported brands in the project, saving the customer over 200,000 yuan.

• Self-developed CAM functionality that optimizes cutting paths;

• A user-friendly, quick graphic insertion statement paired with a process package reduces manual programming time by more than 30%.

• Integrates bevel cutting and welding functions to meet the integrated processing needs of the construction machinery industry.
