Case Study: Maintenance and Renovation of the Elevator Control System at Xindashida Changchun Business Hotel

2025-07-17

A major overhaul of the commercial hotel elevator was carried out using the Xinshida C7000 series control system, thoroughly resolving longstanding operational issues such as unusual noises, jerky operation, and passengers being trapped in the elevator.

Project Background

In Changchun, there’s a hotel that seamlessly combines guest accommodations with business meeting facilities. It’s located in the bustling heart of the High-Tech Zone, adjacent to Jilin University. It’s just a 5-minute drive from the southern highway interchange in Changchun and a 5-minute drive to the Ba Hua Yuan Park in Changchun. Even driving to Changchun Railway Station takes only about 22 minutes. The hotel enjoys a consistently stable customer base and receives positive reviews on review platforms.

However, over the past year, two elevators manufactured in 1999 have become a major challenge for the hotel’s operations. These two elevators, each with a history of more than two decades, had previously served guests quietly and reliably. But as time has passed, various problems have gradually surfaced, and frequent breakdowns have become the norm.

Customer needs

The elevator occasionally emits strange noises; during operation, it suddenly stalls or even comes to an abrupt halt. Sometimes, the elevator doors fail to open or close properly, trapping guests inside and filling the confined space with anxiety and fear. These malfunctions not only spoil the guests’ stay experience but also severely damage the hotel’s reputation and place a heavy burden on its daily operations.

Proposal Description

After learning about the hotel’s predicament, Xindashida’s partners engaged in close communication with the hotel management and conducted a thorough, on-site inspection and analysis of the elevators. Soon after, the cause of the malfunction was identified: due to the elevators’ advanced age, their control systems had severely deteriorated, and their components were excessively worn.

After repeated deliberations and validations, the renovation plan was finally finalized: to carry out a major overhaul of the elevator using the Xindash C7000 series control system—a product that has been widely adopted by Xindash in the elevator retrofit market over the past few years.

Scheme advantages

Fully functional and safe and reliable.

The C7000 boasts powerful features such as intelligent debugging, downloadable fault logs, and self-learning balance coefficients. Its innovative base-clamping design, rapid high-voltage circuit acquisition circuit, and motor overheating protection without stopping further enhance the C7000’s safety and reliability.

Exquisite craftsmanship, uniquely ingenious.

The C7000 all-in-one unit features a unique installation method, with fully prefabricated wiring, integrated plug-in boards, error-proof wiring connections, and design features that prevent accidental short circuits—each element showcasing ingenious craftsmanship.

Extreme structure, sufficient heat dissipation

The C7000 door structure features an innovative design, and the overall cabinet airflow duct is meticulously engineered to optimize heat dissipation for the all-in-one unit. The cabinet body is formed in a single stamping process, and the control cabinets with capacities ranging from (5.5 to 22) kW all share a uniform external dimension of 1184 mm × 420 mm × 200 mm (height × width × thickness).

8 patented technologies

The C7000 control cabinet has been granted 3 invention patents, 2 design patents, and 3 utility model patents.

Project Results

After intensive maintenance work, the aging components were replaced and the control system underwent a comprehensive upgrade. The two elevators have been completely refurbished, now running smoothly and quietly. Every step of the process is carried out strictly in accordance with national standards. Guests will no longer find themselves trapped in elevators, and the hotel’s service quality has been greatly enhanced. Under the supervision and inspection of the Changchun Special Inspection Institute, the elevators fully comply with current national standards.

As an essential means of transportation in high-rise buildings, the safety performance of elevators is directly linked to the safety of people’s lives and property. According to the “China Elevator Safety White Paper,” approximately 100 people die each year in elevator accidents in China, while thousands more are injured. Elevator maintenance, repair, and renovation are crucial measures for preventing elevator accidents and ensuring the safety of people’s lives and property.

Xindashida has extensive experience in elevator modernization. We advocate customized renovation solutions tailored to specific needs, offering users a variety of maintenance and upgrade options.
