The Xinshida SP180/3200 industrial robot in the application of palletizing corrugated cardboard boxes in the packaging industry.

2025-07-25

The Xindashida SP180/3200 industrial robot, paired with the fourth-generation SRC robot control cabinet, meets integration requirements. Equipped with an adaptive palletizing function package, it simplifies palletizing setup procedures, enables rapid model changes, and boosts production line efficiency.

Project Background

In recent years, driven by the explosive growth of e-commerce and advancements in digital printing technology, the corrugated packaging market has been experiencing rapid growth. The global corrugated packaging market is growing faster than expected.

There are roughly over 6,000 corrugated cardboard production lines in the domestic market, along with an even larger number of existing corrugated box printing and packaging equipment units. It is expected that most of this existing equipment will be replaced by production lines featuring higher levels of intelligence, greater production efficiency, and improved stability and reliability over the next 5 to 10 years.

Industrial robots are typical intelligent production equipment, and in the packaging industry, the primary demand for robots is for palletizing robots. Large enterprises and mid-sized companies equip each production line’s end with palletizing robots to achieve high-speed palletizing, whereas small enterprises and some mid-sized companies still rely on manual palletizing at the end of their production lines.

Customer needs

• High stability: Given the low profit margins in cardboard and carton production, companies rely solely on volume to generate revenue. As a result, carton production must be fast—requiring at least 17 cycles per minute per bundle, with higher-capacity models needing to reach over 20 cycles per minute. Moreover, these operations run continuously for 24 hours, placing stringent demands on the equipment’s production efficiency and stability.

• Quick changeover: Carton products are widely used in industries such as leisure foods, logistics, and pharmaceuticals. The number of carton sizes ranges from dozens to over a hundred, making extremely high production efficiency essential for quick changeovers between different carton types.

• Cost Control: For most small and medium-sized enterprises, the labor costs for a post-processing palletizing station alone can range from 600,000 to 800,000 yuan per year. If these tasks are taken over by robots, the investment can be recouped within half a year to one year—making this approach acceptable for most businesses. This is precisely why investing in automated equipment makes sense; cost is an essential factor that enterprises cannot afford to overlook when undergoing intelligent transformation.

Proposal Description

The SP180/3200, when paired with the SRC4L control cabinet, meets integration requirements and is equipped with an adaptive palletizing function package that simplifies palletizing setup, enables rapid changeovers, and boosts production line efficiency.

Scheme advantages

• High speed: The Xindashida palletizing robot SP180 has a payload of 180 kg and an arm reach of 3,155 mm. Thanks to its advanced features—including Optimal Trajectory Planning (TOPP) technology, servo parameter self-tuning, and vibration suppression technology—the robot achieves a palletizing speed of up to 17 cycles per minute.

• Fast model changeover: Custom-developed automatic typesetting software reduces the traditional 30-minute teach-in programming for product model changes to just 2 minutes of parameterized programming.

• Highly Integrated: The entire series of Xindashida’s heavy-duty models features integrated drive and control cabinets, capable of controlling servo grippers, alignment mechanisms, pallet racks, conveyor lines, and other components on palletizing production lines—demonstrating a high degree of integration.
