National-level Honor: STEP Union Wins the Title of “National Model Workers’ Home”

Recently, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions issued the "Decision on Commending National Model Workers' Homes, National Model Workers' Small Families, and Outstanding Trade Union Workers Nationwide," aiming to recognize outstanding individuals, set exemplary models, and inspire trade union organizations at all levels and trade union officials to remain loyal to the Party's cause and serve workers and staff. This initiative further seeks to build grassroots trade unions into true “homes for workers,” uniting and guiding the broad workforce to listen to the Party and follow its lead. The Trade Union Federation of Shanghai STEP Electric Co., Ltd. has been awarded the honorary title of “National Model Workers’ Home.”
The Trade Union Federation of Shanghai STEP Electric Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “STEP Union”) is located in Nanxiang Town, Jiading District, Shanghai. Established in November 2013, it currently has seven branch unions, namely the STEP Electric Union, the STEP Motor Union, the STEP Robotics Union, the STEP Cable Union, the STEP Xia’ao Union, the Zhongweixing Union, and the Zhi Shan Union.
Over the years, the STEP Trade Union has consistently focused on employees as its core, firmly committed to strengthening corporate culture building and actively organizing cultural and sports activities that are popular and enjoyable among workers. It safeguards workers’ rights and continuously enhances employee satisfaction and well-being. Guided by the company’s strategic layout, the union vigorously cultivates “craftsman-type” talent. At the same time, it strengthens its own organizational development and continually improves democratic management practices. The union is dedicated to creating a warm, harmonious, safe, united, and fulfilling work environment—a platform brimming with opportunities and full of vitality for employee growth. Receiving the title of “National Model Employee Home” this time not only fully recognizes the STEP Trade Union’s past efforts but also serves as an earnest expectation and powerful motivation for its future endeavors.
Going forward, the STEP Trade Union will cherish this hard-earned honor all the more. Guided by STEP new round of strategic planning and in accordance with the guiding principles set forth in relevant documents issued by higher-level trade unions, we will focus on four key areas of work to build a distinctive brand for STEP trade union activities. We will strengthen the construction of a trade union organization that is “learning-oriented, service-oriented, and innovation-driven,” striving to make the trade union a truly robust, rights-defending, dynamically active, highly effective, and employee-trusted “home” for workers. Centered on boosting the company’s development, guided by the overarching goal of fostering harmonious labor relations, and prioritizing the enhancement of our rights-protection and service functions, we will enrich our activity platforms, invigorate our internal vitality, transform our mindset, take proactive initiatives, and fully leverage the role of the working class as the main force and the trade union as a vital bridge and link. We will safeguard, mobilize, and harness the enthusiasm and creativity of our workforce, making new contributions to the successful completion of the company’s production and business objectives and to the realization of innovation-driven development.
