From Program Executor to Scenario Adaptable Partner | STEP Debuts at WAIC 2025 with Its AI Collaboration Platform
2025-08-04
On July 29, the 2025 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC 2025) concluded successfully in Shanghai. This year’s conference focused on the theme “An Intelligent Era: Shared Destiny for a Global Community,” comprehensively showcasing the implementation and transformative impact of AI technologies across various industries.

As an important window for China’s national artificial intelligence strategy, this year’s conference has brought together top technological talents and pioneering enterprises from around the globe. At this global AI summit, STEP unveiled its latest achievements in the “robotics + AI” field. Among these, the intelligent robot collaboration platform—featuring cutting-edge technology—drew a large crowd of visitors and became a highly acclaimed “star exhibit” in the exhibition hall.
The smart robot collaboration platform drew a lot of attention at the scene.

The robotic real-time coupled synchronous collaboration demonstration platform showcased this time integrates STEP self-developed control system with AI-based collaborative control algorithms, creating a brand-new architecture for high-precision synchronous control of multiple robots. The platform achieves precise collaboration between two six-axis robots at millisecond-level accuracy, offering a groundbreaking solution for precision manufacturing applications such as aircraft leveling, automotive welding, and semiconductor vibration isolation. Its key highlights include:
1. Unify the time reference and build an ultra-high-precision spatiotemporal synchronization system;
2. Intelligent control algorithms to achieve stable, efficient, and safe collaboration;
3. Real-time communication architecture with low-latency interaction of multi-source data;
4. Coupled motion planning, generating coordinated trajectories with unified physical and logical consistency;
5. Distributed control systems break through the limitations of standalone systems and move toward collective intelligence.
STEP smart product strategy is accelerating its implementation.

“Robotics + AI” is not just a concept—it’s STEP clear technological roadmap. We believe that future industrial robots will evolve from “program executors” into “scene-adaptive agents,” equipped with a complete closed-loop capability encompassing perception, decision-making, and execution, thus truly entering the “Smart Robot” era. STEPeng is building a product capability matrix centered on intelligent control, deep learning, and reinforcement learning, accelerating the integration of AI and robotics to develop stronger capabilities in environmental understanding, dynamic adaptability, and process optimization. This approach will comprehensively lower the integration threshold and enhance delivery efficiency. The universal technology foundation for Smart Robots we’ve proposed is dedicated to making future automation systems easier to plan, integrate, use, maintain, and adapt to multiple scenarios.
Centered on the innovative integration of “robots + AI,” this conference also featured a concentrated showcase of several industry-leading intelligent application solutions, covering key scenarios such as wafer handling, welding of critical automotive seat components, autonomous intelligent arc welding for ships, and panel furniture manufacturing. These solutions comprehensively demonstrate STEP capability—centered on intelligent robots—to deeply penetrate various industrial applications and gradually build a versatile, universally supportive smart manufacturing platform system.
Data-driven, cloud-edge-device collaboration
In the future, STEP will continue to deepen its efforts in training and deploying industry-specific large-scale models driven by both knowledge and data, building an integrated cloud-edge-device flexible manufacturing platform that seamlessly connects the entire intelligent chain—from data collection and process learning to decision-making and execution. STEP will keep accelerating product iterations, making industrial robots smarter and comprehensively empowering customer application scenarios through focused industry strategies and deep vertical expertise. Although the World Artificial Intelligence Conference has come to a close, STEP’s exploration on the “robotics + AI” journey is just beginning. We believe that an intelligent future is not a distant vision—it’s a tangible reality that we can deliver. STEP will persist in driving the evolution of robotic capabilities with AI, making manufacturing simpler and opening up broader application horizons.
