Good News! The “STEP Technology Center Laboratory” has successfully passed the CNAS re-assessment and expanded its scope of accreditation.

Recently, the “STEP Technology Center Laboratory” successfully passed the re-evaluation for laboratory accreditation and the expansion of its scope of competence by CNAS (China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment) (Certificate No.: CNAS L6430).

This fully demonstrates that the laboratory at STEP Technology Center has reached a level of management and testing capability recognized both nationally and internationally.

 

Regarding the “Shanghai STEP Technology Center Laboratory”

The laboratory of the Shanghai STEP Technology Center was established under the auspices of Shanghai STEP Electric Co., Ltd. The laboratory has set up a comprehensive quality management system and a technical management system in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025, and received its initial CNAS accreditation in 2013.

The laboratory of the Technology Center has successively obtained laboratory accreditation from numerous internationally recognized authorities, including Germany’s TÜV, Switzerland’s SGS, the United States’ UL, France’s BV, and Canada’s CSA, enabling the company’s products to be sold in more than 110 countries and regions worldwide.

This re-evaluation involves re-assessment, expansion of testing capabilities, and changes to standards. The testing capabilities cover two areas—electromagnetic compatibility and environmental reliability testing—10 categories of test objects, 21 standard changes, 9 new testing methods, and 86 parameters.

The testing scope covers our company’s entire product line, including elevators, escalators, variable-frequency drives, servo drives, industrial robots, elevator cloud platforms, and IoT solutions. The testing simultaneously addresses legal and regulatory requirements across various application scenarios, such as rail transit, civil, commercial, light industry, and industrial environments, thereby providing robust support for laboratory accreditation by third-party certification bodies and for bid evaluation reports submitted to customers in the market.

Thanks to the relentless efforts of all members of the Technology Center Laboratory, our company’s Technology Center Laboratory has finally received unanimous recognition and full recommendation from the expert panel of reviewers.

The China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) is an authoritative body authorized by the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the provisions of the "Regulations of the People's Republic of China on Certification and Accreditation" and the "Administrative Measures for the Supervision and Management of Accreditation Bodies." CNAS conducts accreditation and evaluation activities for conformity assessment bodies, including certification bodies, laboratories, inspection bodies, and verification and validation bodies, and is responsible for the operation of the national accreditation system for conformity assessment bodies.
