Application of Xindashida Motion Control System in Labeling Machines for the Sewing Equipment Industry
2025-08-15
Project Background
With the advent of the intelligent manufacturing era, companies across all industries are striving to enhance production efficiency and product quality. As one of the key intelligent manufacturing devices, the automatic label-cutting machine is primarily used for the rapid, efficient, and precise cutting of trademarks. Compared with traditional manual or semi-automatic cutting methods, the automatic label-cutting machine significantly reduces workers’ physical labor intensity and error rates, thereby greatly improving both production efficiency and product quality.
Customer needs
• Reducing the defect rate: In traditional trademark cutting processes, persistent issues such as label misalignment, wrinkles, and overlaps keep recurring, resulting in a consistently high defect rate. This not only tarnishes the product’s appearance but also instantly undermines consumer appeal on store shelves, severely damaging both brand reputation and market competitiveness.

• When it comes to handling small-batch, multi-variety order demands, the traditional equipment debugging process still relies on “manual experience plus trial-and-error,” often taking hours or even days. Faced with flexible orders involving multiple specifications and small batches, the changeover process is slow and compatibility is poor, severely limiting production line flexibility and causing companies to miss critical market windows.

Xinshida Solution
The control system uses the Xindash SC20-A3H4 programmable PAC motion controller as the control center, and the Xindash CP6 series servo drives as the motion actuators.

The SC20 series of Xindashida solution topology is a programmable PAC motion controller developed based on the CODESYS platform. The controller body integrates pulse ports, analog input ports, 485/232 serial communication ports, and an EtherCAT port, supporting up to 16-axis bus servo systems. The controller body also features high-speed input ports, enabling direct signal transmission from photoelectric sensors to the control unit, thus achieving rapid and highly precise positioning of the cutting blade in automatic label-cutting machines. While boosting production efficiency, this system can dynamically adjust the cutting blade position in real time according to the flexibility of different label materials, thereby reducing product defect rates and improving pass rates.
The Xinshida CP6 series pulse servo drives support a velocity loop bandwidth of 3.5 kHz and a pulse input frequency of 16 MHz, reducing command quantization errors and transmission delays. This results in smoother and more timely position commands, ensuring that the front-end command input stage of the control system is free from bottlenecks and comprehensively enhancing both the servo response speed and positioning accuracy.
• High-speed marking with precise cutting at 600 cuts per minute;
• Accurate cutting with automatic color tracking during marking, ensuring high repeatability;
• Debugging is simple and quick—just enter the trademark length and the marking distance, and you’re ready to start processing and production.

Project Results
The complete solution featuring the Xindashida SC20 motion controller has been successfully applied to an all-automatic high-speed label-cutting machine project in Guangdong Province. After operational testing, the customer’s machine speed has increased from the earlier 350 labels per minute to 600 labels per minute, resulting in a 40% improvement in overall production efficiency.
