STEP PD110 Inverter | The Float Switch Function Balances Irrigation and Pump Protection

With the arrival of the Mangzhong solar term, the village is bustling with activity. Irrigation in the fields requires maintaining a steady water flow while also preventing the pump from running dry and sucking air.
This has posed quite a challenge for many farmers. This year, STEP launched the PD110 variable-frequency drive specifically for the water supply industry—nicknamed “Little Pi Di 110”—which is designed to relieve the worries of “farmer uncles.” It leverages a feature on its body... “Quick and convenient float control” Our signature strength allows us to achieve both irrigation and pump protection without needing to perform complex calculations, ensuring even and thorough watering of the land.
So, how do we activate this “signature skill”?
② Connect the PD110 frequency converter to terminals X0 and X1 as shown in the diagram (you may connect only one of them according to site requirements; if both X0 and X1 receive signals simultaneously, the system will stop operating upon receiving a signal at X1).
③ Press the “Float Reversal” button to activate this function; the inverter will then operate according to the float’s status, and the operation indicator light will show the running status (a solid light indicates that the inverter is running).
Now, simply by using the PD110 to control the water pump at the inlet or outlet of a reservoir and leveraging its float-switch function, you effectively add a float-level controller to the reservoir or buffer tank. In this way, the reservoir can maintain a constant liquid level, ensuring that agricultural irrigation needs are met while guaranteeing a stable supply of water.
After such simple operation and application, farmers no longer need to stay stationed in the fields to smoothly solve the irrigation challenges with the PD110 frequency converter.
