At this grand event, STEP Service Robot (Amal) received a birthday gift of special significance—the “Chapek Emerging Brand of the Year Award.”
At the “Čapek” Awards ceremony held on the 26th, STEPeng Service Robot (Amal) stood out among numerous emerging brands thanks to its outstanding product R&D capabilities, comprehensive spatial service solution offerings, and high-quality after-sales service. As a result, it was highly favored by the organizing committee and awarded the “Čapek Emerging Brand of the Year” title. For Amal, the newly one-year-old service robot from STEP, this is not only a recognition of Amal’s hard work and dedication in the robotics industry but also an affirmation of Amal’s expertise in the field of intelligent spatial services.
The Capek Prize was established in 2014. It honors organizations and individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of robotics, aiming to serve as a witness to the development of the robotics industry and ultimately become the “Nobel Prize” of the robotics sector. The establishment of this award is intended to set benchmark standards for leading companies in the robotics industry that demonstrate strategic foresight, thereby enhancing their overall brand image. Among these, the Rising Star Brand Award recognizes brands that reflect industry trends and exhibit high growth potential. Today, the Capek Prize has gradually evolved into one of the most credible and influential awards in China’s robotics industry.
STEP Service Robot (Amal) is a sub-brand that has emerged naturally under the strong backing of the Group. Leveraging the parent company’s extensive technological expertise in elevator control and industrial robotics, Amal centers on the IoT-based elevator control safety standard protocol as its core technology. The brand specializes in intelligent elevator solutions for robots, integrating IoT, service robots, and smart building cloud management platforms to provide comprehensive solutions for smart building upgrades and services.
The STEP service robot, “Amal ‘π’,” takes its name from the infinite digits of pi, symbolizing an endless pursuit of service excellence. Its Chinese name, “Paipai,” reflects the idea that “pa” stands for service—serving others and being served by them—and underscores our commitment to making service simpler and more accessible. Paipai is equipped with a custom-developed ANOS navigation and positioning system and, supported by the ACOS cloud-based operation and maintenance platform, achieves intelligent IoT integration with systems such as elevator control, telephone networks, hotel management platforms, mobile apps, and unmanned vending kiosks. It boasts a range of cutting-edge core technologies, including autonomous navigation, automatic obstacle avoidance, proactive elevator riding, automatic charging, voice calls, remote control and command, remote operation and maintenance, self-disinfection, external disinfection interfaces, and personalized settings. These capabilities enable Paipai to deliver “more efficient, safer, simpler, and outstanding” smart services in practical application scenarios such as delivery, guest reception, guidance, package retrieval, disinfection, and promotional activities.
The black-and-white “PaiPai” evokes the endearing charm of the national treasure giant panda, with its black-and-white color scheme. Its simple lines accentuate a sense of technological sophistication, while its clever proportional divisions create lively, personified features. The LED display serving as the “eyes” enhances interactive fun, making robotic service less rigid and bringing intelligent services closer to a truly human-like experience—using even more innovation to serve the future.
