On October 30, the finals of the Shanghai Urban Digital Transformation Practice Competition were held at the Telecom Training Center. After the preliminary review, the re-review, and the final round, The STEP “Blockchain-Based Elevator Cloud Big Data System” project won the third prize in this competition. Zhang Ying, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, Gui Yunlin, Head of the Grassroots Work Department of the Shanghai Federation of Trade Unions, and Chang Chaohui, Deputy General Manager and Chairman of the Trade Union of China Telecom Shanghai Branch, attended the finals and presented awards to the winning contestants.

The final round of this competition consists of three stages: presentation of the proposed solution, on-site defense, and scoring by the judges. Among the many competing projects, STEP’s “Blockchain-Based Elevator Cloud Big Data System” stood out thanks to its advanced digital concepts, first-class user experience, and significant value contribution to the industry, ultimately earning a high overall score in the comprehensive evaluation.
The “Elevator Cloud” big data system developed by STEP integrates a core elevator cloud platform with complementary hardware systems. Its primary goal is to explore intelligent communication protocols for elevators that prevent information leaks and enhance security. It also aims to investigate the relationships among mechanical vibrations, noise, and electrical control within complex, resilient connection systems. Furthermore, the system builds an elevator cloud platform based on blockchain technology and ensures the secure sharing of data throughout the entire lifecycle of elevators. At the same time, it elevates the intelligence and networking levels of elevator operation control, implements the guiding principles of “IoT + Maintenance Services” and “On-Demand Maintenance,” and leverages 5G and AI technologies in depth to improve elevator interaction experiences and boost elevator intelligence. This initiative holds significant practical importance for promoting high-quality development of maintenance services provided by elevator enterprises.

As one of the competition units within the 2022 Shanghai Urban Digital Transformation “Smart Craftsmen” Selection and “Leading Pioneers” Evaluation event, this competition is themed “Resilient Cities: The Cloud Shapes the Future.” It focuses on identifying digital projects and solutions that leverage new technologies, new products, and innovative approaches to support epidemic prevention and control, promote the sustained and stable recovery of the economy, address pain points, bottlenecks, and challenges in business operations and development, and ensure the stable functioning of industrial and supply chains. Since the launch of the competition, a total of 240 contestants have registered. After the initial review, 66 proposals advanced to the re-examination stage, covering tracks related to economic digitization, digitalization of daily life, digital governance, and the cultivation of high-quality small and medium-sized enterprises. Ultimately, 29 projects made it to the finals.
