Smart elevators, working together to build a better future—STEP Elevator Cloud G-CLOUD 2023 has been newly upgraded!

As an end-to-end solution that covers the entire lifecycle of elevators, Elevator Cloud has been developed over six years by the top-notch technical team at STEP. Leveraging advanced blockchain cloud platform technology, it provides customers with features such as accessory certification, elevator operational characteristic diagnostics, and an elevator monitoring dashboard, ensuring secure and tamper-proof sharing of critical elevator data.

Upon its launch, Elevator Cloud has been hailed as the guardian of safety and efficiency in the elevator aftermarket, seamlessly connecting various stakeholders across the elevator ecosystem—including components manufacturers, overall producers, maintenance and service providers, property management companies, passengers, and regulatory authorities. Its emergence marks a groundbreaking milestone in the development of the industry’s ecosystem.

In recent years, the Internet of Things for elevators, smart elevators, and intelligent supervision have become a consensus among governments, enterprises, and users. STEP boasts powerful core data collection capabilities for elevators and possesses both master control systems and door-machine systems, making its launch of the next-generation elevator cloud platform, G-CLOUD?, perfectly timed.

The next-generation elevator cloud platform, G-CLOUD, takes user needs as its guiding principle for continuous evolution. Closely aligned with the key points of the Market Supervision Administration’s pilot program for smart elevator supervision, G-CLOUD leverages STEP’s years of accumulated expertise in big data collection and analysis—covering electrical operation data, cab mechanical vibration data, door machine data, and audio-video data. It showcases meticulous craftsmanship in both functional design and product family enhancement, achieving all-around performance improvements and demonstrating, through solid capabilities, a high-value user experience.

  Elevator Cloud Highlight Features

   Cloud supervision is imperative.

Currently, China has over 9 million elevators in operation. To strengthen intelligent supervision of elevators, national and local market regulatory authorities have successively issued technical specifications for IoT terminal devices and platforms for elevators. They are also encouraging localities to explore pilot programs for a new “insurance + service” model covering the entire lifecycle of elevators, thereby shifting the focus from reducing accident rates to reducing failure rates.

The elevator cloud G-CLOUD has successfully completed precise integration with 16 local government platforms (provincial or municipal), providing support for customers’ elevator acceptance inspections while also serving as a powerful tool for elevator safety supervision.

   □ Cloud-based vibration data enables predictive maintenance throughout the entire product lifecycle.

The EOCD (Elevator Operation Characteristic Diagnostic Device) uploads vibration data to the cloud, leveraging cloud computing to directly reflect mechanical performance. Combined with electrical operation data and door-machine data, it transforms post-event alarms into proactive warnings, enabling fault prediction throughout the entire lifecycle.

   □ Real-time transmission of electronically controlled data to monitor elevator status.

Elevator cloud users can monitor the real-time operating status of elevators via a dual-mode approach—either through the web interface or the mobile app. When an elevator malfunctions, the alarm bell sounds, or vibration levels exceed the standard, relevant alert information will be pushed to the user’s account.

   □ The LAN solution meets the requirements for local real-time monitoring.

For scenarios requiring local monitoring via a local area network, STEP Elevator Cloud can provide a complete LAN solution. The ESDT Ethernet terminal can be integrated into the local wired security network, and a local monitoring server can be deployed in the control room, enabling local supervision of elevator data.

Cloud services—efficient and precise.

   □ Big data collection and analysis enable on-demand maintenance.

The ESDT series terminals in the machine room are equipped with integrated EOCD and door operator controllers, enabling the collection and analysis of big data. This facilitates services such as electrical fault alerts, over-limit cabin mechanical vibration alerts, and audio-video interaction, thereby qualifying customers to receive on-demand maintenance services.

   □ Migrating crane data to the cloud to address the chimney effect.

By migrating the STEP door machine system to the cloud, we can provide national and local standards-related data as well as value-added data associated with door systems, effectively monitoring more than 70% of door system failures and issuing alerts in real time. When combined with the master control system, the cloud-based door machine system can effectively address the chimney effect.

   □ Remote shared debugging boosts efficiency

The Elevator Cloud app offers remote shared debugging services, significantly reducing after-sales service costs for customers and improving debugging efficiency.

   □ Accessories undergo cryptographic authentication and scientific management for accessories.

The elevator cloud component certification utilizes military-grade blockchain encryption technology, boasting the security level of digital currencies and ensuring that encrypted data remains tamper-proof and cannot be intercepted during transmission. By obtaining component certification, customers can take proactive control over component management and generate long-term revenue from components.

Cloud Guardian—Easy and Worry-Free

   □ Automatic tracking of emergency response procedures completed.

When an elevator malfunctions or traps passengers, the elevator cloud platform can automatically create an emergency response work order and send alert SMS messages and app push notifications to maintenance personnel. The emergency response process platform can automatically track changes in the elevator’s status and automatically complete the process once the elevator is confirmed to be free of faults.

   □ Audio and Video Interactive Services for Emergency Rescue

ESDT terminals that support video can be equipped with cameras, allowing users to view the status of passengers inside the elevator car via a web interface or mobile app, which facilitates the development of effective safety and rescue strategies. ESDT terminals that support IP-based voice communication enable direct call connections between trapped individuals and rescue personnel, helping to calm those trapped and ensuring swift and safe emergency responses. Additionally, these terminals can seamlessly integrate with existing analog walkie-talkies to meet the technical requirements of the GBT24475 remote alarm system.

   □ AI-assisted monitoring for safe elevator use

ESDT terminals that support video can also be equipped with AI cameras to monitor and alert on conditions such as electric scooters entering the elevator, passenger counts, whether the elevator is occupied or empty, and prolonged door-open states, thereby further enhancing elevator safety.

   □ Link mobile devices for smart and convenient elevator use

The STEP Elevator Cloud Platform can provide elevator interaction interfaces for smart mobile devices such as smartphones, service robots, and logistics robots, enabling these devices to enjoy intelligent and convenient elevator access.

Amid widespread anticipation within the industry, the elevator cloud G-CLOUD is poised to make its debut, presenting product and system features that are “more practical, smarter, and safer.” It will continue to build an ecosystem centered around core electronic control systems, driving green circular development, energy conservation, and emission reduction, and leveraging technology to empower the reform and development of smart elevators.
