Great news! The STEP Municipal Design Innovation Center has officially been awarded its plaque.

Recently, the Shanghai Municipal Design Innovation Center and Design-Led Demonstration Enterprise Award Ceremony, along with the briefing on the 2023 Shanghai Design Capital Development Work, was held at the Shanghai Expo Museum. During the event, plaques were awarded to 57 newly recognized municipal-level design innovation centers—including the Design Innovation Center of Shanghai STEP Electric Co., Ltd.—as well as to 13 municipal-level design-led demonstration enterprises for the year 2022.

The Municipal Design Innovation Center was established by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology in accordance with the national-level industrial design center accreditation requirements and Shanghai’s key initiatives for promoting the development of “City of Design.” After undergoing multiple rounds of selection and rigorous evaluation, it recognizes design institutions that demonstrate a strong foundation in design innovation, robust service capabilities, well-developed teams, outstanding business performance, and clear scale and competitive advantages within their respective industries. The aim is to further nurture market entities in Shanghai’s design industry, enhance the quality and level of design services provided, and highlight the empowering and driving role of design innovation.

This official award signifies that STEP has achieved a substantial enhancement in its design innovation capabilities across key core areas and has received high recognition for this achievement. Moving forward, STEP will leverage its municipal-level Design Innovation Center as a strategic platform to increase investment in design innovation, improve R&D facilities and experimental equipment, attract top-notch design talent, continuously optimize its proprietary product lines and solutions, and thereby contribute to the upgrading and transformation of industries. Moreover, STEP will further strengthen its efforts to help build Shanghai into a “City of Design.”
