Elevator Cloud Technology: The Guardian of Safety and Efficiency in the Elevator Aftermarket | STEP Reports on Its Participation in the China International Elevator Exhibition
2020-08-20
The China International Elevator Exhibition was grandly held from August 18 to 21 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. Joining Mr. Gu Deren, a special correspondent for "China Elevator," let’s take a look at the new technologies and products showcased by STEP.

STEP Exhibition Area | The 25 Years We’ve Walked Together
Mr. Gu Deren, Special Correspondent for China Elevator
Reporter: This year marks the 25th anniversary of STEP founding. As you step into STEP booth, the first thing you’ll see is the commemorative logo for the 25th anniversary.
Sun Entao: The STEP exhibition area includes displays of the elevator cloud platform, comprehensive integrated elevator systems, complete home elevator solutions, escalator solutions tailored for rail transit, human-machine interaction products, cables, and intelligent manufacturing production lines, among other solutions.
Elevator System Integration Demonstration
The G9000 control cabinet makes its debut.
Engineer Dong: The STEP G9000 integrated control cabinet has the following features: 1) An industrial-style design that makes it suitable for a wider range of application scenarios. 2) Fully integrated components, which significantly reduce the cabinet’s size (height: 900mm), laying the foundation for fully automated production of control cabinets. 3) Integrated with the Elevator Cloud, enabling the binding of elevator system IDs to ensure the after-sales maintenance and service benefits for elevator customers. 4) By using encoders, the control cabinet can be linked to host parameters, reducing the need for on-site adjustments of host parameters. 5) The control cabinet features a dual-door design, allowing for differentiated access permissions based on different operational functions. Routine operations are performed via the front panel; when component repairs are required, the operator door can be opened for access.
Elevator Cloud All-in-One Solution
The guardian of safety and efficiency in the elevator aftermarket
Engineer Jiang: Elevator Cloud-Based Accessories Management Solution. This solution stores raw data—including chip Eid information and barcodes for all accessories—on a cloud platform. When on-site maintenance and replacement parts are installed, their information must be compared against the data stored on the cloud platform. Only accessories whose information matches the records on the cloud platform—i.e., only genuine, authorized accessories—can establish a normal connection with the entire control system, thereby ensuring the safety and efficiency of accessory management by elevator manufacturers. Elevator Cloud Data Security Assurance: Leveraging blockchain-based encryption algorithms, all data transmissions undergo encryption throughout the entire process. By fully harnessing the security and protection capabilities of the cloud, this solution guarantees data integrity and confidentiality. Additionally, data is processed and analyzed using the chip Eid blockchain encryption algorithm, further enhancing data security.
Highly integrated home elevator control cabinet
No one is trapped during a power outage—automatic rescue is activated.
Engineer Sun: STEP Home Elevator System: 1) Replaces traditional photoelectric switches and limit switches with absolute encoders, resulting in a cleaner and more streamlined shaft design that ensures perfectly accurate floor alignment without ever missing a stop. 2) Comes with an external call panel that fits seamlessly into the standard 86-box base box dimensions commonly used for home switches. 3) Features automatic rescue functionality. Given the private and sensitive nature of home environments, the system integrates a one-touch call function. It includes a built-in SIM card capable of storing up to four emergency contact numbers—such as those for family members or property management—thus addressing the issue of maintenance personnel being unable to enter the home during power outages or equipment failures. As a result, the system guarantees that no one will be trapped during power outages or equipment malfunctions, providing automatic rescue assistance.
Judgment on the Future of Elevator Control Technology
Networked, intelligent, human-centered, and more secure.
Sun Entao: Traditional elevator control technologies are increasingly being integrated with new technologies such as the Internet of Things, cloud computing, and big data. At the same time, demands for safety are steadily rising, as are the requirements for user-friendliness and product aesthetics. Moreover, demands regarding product size and integration levels are also continuously increasing. Looking ahead, elevator control technologies will undoubtedly evolve toward greater networking, intelligence, human-centered design, and enhanced safety.
Sun Entao: Take, for example, the Elevator Cloud—a brand-new system that integrates IoT technology with big data analytics. By connecting elevators to the internet via IoT, and leveraging big data technologies to analyze and integrate the vast amounts of data collected, this system is designed to better serve elevator companies and their customers, helping them solve various challenges they face.
