Our company’s contactless, convenient elevator access solution, launched in the earlier phase, has received an enthusiastic market response, and customer demand has significantly increased. While the previous WeChat post mainly introduced the basic principles of contactless elevator access, this article provides a detailed introduction to the solution itself, focusing on its specific implementation methods. We’ll cover the solution’s key advantages, system architecture, installation and commissioning procedures, and user experience in detail.
Scheme advantages
1. Follow elevator usage conventions for user convenience;
2. Supports immediate elevator access and allows user permission management based on scenario requirements (e.g., residential buildings, hotels, etc.).
3. According to scenario requirements, quick functions can be provided, such as the “One-Click Work Start” function for office buildings, etc.;
4. Only one IoT gateway needs to be set up in the data center;
5. Supports two internet access modes: 4G and Ethernet. If the server room is wired with network cables, we recommend using the Ethernet mode, which incurs no data charges.
6. In the later stage, value-added services such as elevator health reports can be provided;
7. An independent IoT interface is used for data exchange, without affecting the safe operation of the elevator.

System Architecture of the Contactless Elevator Usage Solution
System Architecture
1. The elevator gateway is connected to the elevator main control board via an IoT communication port and is installed on the side of the machine room control cabinet.
2. The elevator gateway communicates bidirectionally with the elevator’s main control board via an IoT communication port. On one hand, the gateway collects elevator operation data to enable conventional elevator monitoring functions; on the other hand, it sends elevator call requests—from users’ smartphones to the cloud platform—back to the main board.
3. The “Elevator Cloud” platform serves as the server-side component connecting the user’s smartphone to the equipment at the machine room.
4. It does not have any electrical connection with the elevator control bus and does not affect the safe operation of the elevator.
5. The elevator gateway supports remote program updates and can be remotely upgraded and debugged according to the on-site conditions.
6. When the data center has Ethernet connectivity, we recommend the Ethernet gateway ESDT200-ETH. When the data center does not have Ethernet connectivity, we recommend the 4G gateway ESDT400.

Installation and commissioning
1. Submit the network access application and fill in the terminal network access information.
2. Use the “STEP Elevator Cloud” app to perform function debugging.
3. Based on the on-site layout requirements, use the STEP Elevator Cloud Platform to generate user QR codes in bulk and post them accordingly.
How to Use WeChat Mini Programs
1. Open WeChat, scan the QR code outside the elevator hall, and launch the “STEP Elevator Cloud” mini-program.
2. The passenger’s current floor will be automatically displayed, and the system will directly enter the elevator call interface.
3. Passengers should tap the up-call or down-call button corresponding to their desired floor, then register their in-cab instructions.
4. When the elevator arrives, the user enters the elevator and waits for it to reach the destination floor.
5. When the user reaches the destination floor, this elevator ride comes to an end.
How to Use the Mobile App
1. Download and install the “STEP Elevator Cloud” app from your mobile app store.
2. Open the app and scan the QR code outside the elevator hall.
3. The passenger’s current floor will be automatically displayed, and the system will directly enter the elevator call interface.
4. Passengers should tap the up-call or down-call buttons according to their desired floor, then register their cabin commands.
5. When the elevator arrives, the user enters the elevator and waits for it to reach the destination floor.
