Wang Rui provides technical commentary on the competition.

Wang Rui, Director of the Competition Organizing Committee, provided a technical commentary on the competition, stating that this event was designed with the renovation and upgrading of aging elevators as its assessment backdrop. The competition’s questions were structured around elevator renovation technologies and on-site construction organization and management, aiming to evaluate the contestants’ comprehensive professional competence and their ability to integrate and apply various technical skills. Given the lengthy duration and comprehensive scope of this competition, it posed considerable challenges even for those who have only a superficial understanding of specific trades. Through this competition, the industry and enterprises have heightened their attention to the technical capabilities required for elevator renovation and upgrading. At the same time, we hope that this event will influence and guide the direction of vocational education and skills training in the field of elevator engineering technology.

After four days of intense competition, four contestants—Long Shengming from Guizhou Zhonghang Elevator Co., Ltd., Zuo Ke from Hunan Institute of Electrical Engineering and Technology, Wang Wuchao from Huasheng Fujiada Elevator Co., Ltd., and Jiang Shan from Beijing Subway Technical School—ultimately won first prize in the competition. Eight contestants, including Li Kaixiang from Guizhou Hanteng Mechanical and Electrical Equipment Sales Co., Ltd., were awarded second prize; twelve contestants, including Meng Guangle from Langfang Youli Elevator Co., Ltd., received third prize; and fifteen contestants, including Pu Lei from the Suzhou Branch of Kangli Elevator Co., Ltd., were honored with an excellence award.

He Yong Delivers the Closing Remarks

In his closing remarks, He Yong, Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of the BRICS Skills Development and Technological Innovation Competition, expressed his delight at seeing that the technical regulations for the elevator competition event in the Chinese region—developed in accordance with the fundamental guidelines of the World Skills Standards Specification (WSSS)—reflect the best international practices described in the WSSS and have been successfully implemented in this competition. He expressed hope that the competition’s Technical Committee would continue to summarize the experiences and identify areas for improvement from this event, further refining China’s elevator competition technical standards by aligning them more closely with global skill standards. He once again thanked all the host organizations, supporting enterprises, experts, judges, and competitors for their hard work and dedication to this competition, and extended his gratitude for everyone’s continued support of the BRICS Competition.
