STEP Wins First Prize of Zhejiang Province’s Science and Technology Progress Award

On the morning of May 14, the Zhejiang Province Science and Technology Awards Ceremony was held at the Zhejiang Provincial People's Hall. Che Jun, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, attended the ceremony, while Yuan Jiajun, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor, delivered a speech.
At the conference, a total of 299 Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology Awards for 2018 were presented, including 28 First Prizes, 95 Second Prizes, and 176 Third Prizes. Over the past three years, these awards have generated direct economic benefits totaling 291.8 billion yuan and indirect economic benefits amounting to 357.8 billion yuan.
The project “Key Technologies and Industrialization for High-Performance, High-Reliability, and High-Comfort Autonomous Design and Manufacturing,” jointly undertaken by STEP, Zhejiang University, Senhe Elevator, Conly Elevator, and Zhejiang Xizi Foward Motor, has been awarded the First Prize of the Zhejiang Province Science and Technology Progress Award.
The project has trained over 50 doctoral and master’s students and provided training to more than 600 technical personnel for enterprises. It has also published a number of high-quality academic papers that have been widely cited. The technologies developed under this project, as well as the design and manufacturing tools and product series created, are all protected by independent intellectual property rights. These achievements play a crucial role in enhancing enterprises’ capabilities for independent R&D and innovation in high-end elevator products, thereby boosting the overall competitiveness of elevator manufacturers. The project’s outcomes have enabled the industrialization of ultra-high-speed, high-performance elevator product lines—including passenger elevators, sightseeing elevators, and medical elevators. The application of these high-end elevators with independently owned intellectual property rights in major national projects is of great significance and has laid a solid technological foundation for the localization of ultra-high-speed, high-performance elevators.
