In early April, Cui Xiaobo, General Manager of the Northern Region at STEP Electric, was deeply moved when he saw a 16-bit elevator main control board manufactured by STEP in 2001 at the Beijing Culture and Arts Building. It truly felt like: 18 years of companionship, as stable and reliable as ever!

This building is equipped with a total of seven elevators: two sets of parallel elevators and three single elevators. The control systems all use the 16-bit microcomputer customer-specific B-board manufactured by STEP in 2001. According to user feedback, these seven elevators have been running steadily and safely for 18 years now!

In 1998, STEP was the first in China to independently develop and launch the very first fully serial elevator control system, thereby ushering the Chinese elevator industry’s control system upgrade into a new era of computer-network-based control.
