As spring returns to the earth, joy fills the air and blessings abound throughout the land, accompanied by bursts of cheerful songs. On February 1, the STEP 2017 Annual Meeting and the 2018 Spring Festival Gala were grandly held in the auditorium of STEP factory on Suyi Road in Shanghai.

The 2017 video of STEP—titled “STEP in 2017”—first took everyone on a journey through STEP hardworking efforts in 2017. Afterwards, Chairman Ji Yi and President Cai Liang delivered speeches, and the conference also held an awards ceremony to honor the winners of the STEP Annual Excellence Craftsmanship—Craftsman Project.

The past year has been an exceptionally remarkable one for STEP! In 2017, STEP Group achieved another record high in sales, with revenue from the transportation control and robotics segments accounting for nearly 70% of the group’s total revenue—demonstrating that STEP transformation and development strategy is now taking shape.

With hundreds of boats racing against the current, those who fail to advance will inevitably fall behind. I hope that all our colleagues at Xinshi Da will continue to maintain a sense of reverence, a spirit of collaboration, and gratitude. Let us bravely strive to be pioneers—our happiness is not only earned through our own efforts but also forged through teamwork. The very fact that we’ve come together today stems from our shared dream: to build a leading enterprise in China’s intelligent manufacturing sector. Let us always keep our original aspirations firmly in mind and contribute our part to the rise of China’s intelligent manufacturing, as Xinshi Da employees.

President Cai Liang’s Address: A New Era for STEP

With the addition of new members such as Zhongweixing, Xiaoa, Huitong, and Zhishan Zhikong, the smart manufacturing sector has now taken shape. As a result, the entire business development of STEPeng Group can truly be said to have entered a “new era for STEPeng.” Looking ahead to this new era, President Cai Liang emphasized three key words: responsibility, craftsmanship, and integration.

Taking responsibility is a fundamental quality that every professional should possess—what we commit to, we must deliver on. Starting with myself, I pledge to the Board of Directors, and all employees pledge to the company: Together, we will shoulder the collective responsibility for the entire organization, making accountability a core part of STEP culture.

The spirit of craftsmanship: being a skilled artisan who strives for perfection. On your own job, truly become the most capable person there is. Even if you haven’t reached that level yet, maintain the ambition to keep improving and aim to become the most capable person possible. The higher your standards for yourself, the higher you’ll be able to reach. In short, become a person of real ability—a skilled artisan. Become someone who constantly challenges themselves and pushes beyond their limits, always striving for excellence.

Integration. The continuous addition of new companies is the greatest pillar for injecting fresh vitality into our organization and also serves as a crucial foundation for future development. Integration requires all of us to maintain an open and inclusive mindset—embracing other cultures, understanding others’ approaches, and finding common ground. There will always be a way to reach a shared, ultimate goal. I hope that everyone will take the initiative to take this step, tap into these resources, fully seize the favorable opportunities in the market, and truly step into a new era of STEP.

Award Ceremony: Excellence in Craftsmanship – Craftsman Program

2017 was the year when STEP vigorously promoted the spirit of craftsmanship. Ji Defa, founder and former chairman of STEP, called on everyone to strive to become conscious practitioners, active implementers, and successful exemplars of the craftsmanship spirit. At the annual meeting, STEP held an awards ceremony for the 2017 Outstanding Craftsmanship—Craftsman Project.

Spring couplets jointly wish for a bright future.

Spring couplets are a traditional custom of the Chinese nation. At the annual meeting, the general managers of STEP various subsidiaries—Wang Gangzhi, General Manager of Zhishan Intelligent Control; Su Chongde, General Manager of Huitong; Zhou Guangxing, General Manager of Robot; Tian Yongxin, General Manager of Xia’ao; Zeng Yi, Chairman of Zhongweixing; Wang Gaojian, General Manager of Yixin; Kong Shanxiang, General Manager of Cable; Jin Xinhai, General Manager of Motor; and Wang Peng, General Manager of Electrical—each proudly displayed their own spring couplets, expressing their heartfelt wishes for the coming year.

President Cai Liang’s couplet reads: “Time leaves no trace; after 23 years of building our enterprise, STEP is now in the prime of youth and brimming with vitality. Success has its path; as we embark on another 30 years of pioneering, STEP finds itself at the height of boundless glory.” Chairman Ji Yi inscribed the horizontal scroll: “The giant vessel has already set sail.”

This year marks the 10th consecutive year that STEP has hosted the “Spring Festival Gala.” The performances put on by employees have become increasingly spectacular and demonstrate ever-higher levels of professionalism.

The opening performance of “Celebration and Drumming” was like a galloping army of ten thousand horses, with drumbeats that conveyed an indomitable spirit and soaring enthusiasm!

“Youth Medley: Panama”—street-dance boys, passionate girls, vibrant youth in motion, and soaring dance moves.

The boys’ small chorus sings “I Believe.” I believe that with just a stretch of my hand, I can touch the sky. The dreams I long to pursue—I’m never afraid of others seeing them. Here, I can make them all come true.

The dance “Half a Pot of Silk” exudes a poetic and picturesque charm. With every gesture and movement, it unfolds the freedom of the soul and brings to life the exquisite beauty of classical artistry.

The dance “Come On, AMIGO”—riding a balance bike, dancing through the vibrant years of youth. Come on, my friend—youth never stays still! At our bravest moments, let’s fight together!

The dance “A Melodic Medley of Cultures” showcases Tai Chi’s blend of strength and softness, the enchanting allure of Indian dance, the disciplined precision of soldier drumming, and the fiery passion of samba—embracing all rivers and accommodating diverse influences.

The grand chorus, “Fly Freely, Song of the Yangtze River, Song of STEP,” performed by the STEP Choir—a group of professional caliber—brings to life STEP strength, its bold spirit, and its dreams for the future.

In the new era, those who strive with determination have created today’s achievements. As we look ahead to the days ahead, we must continue to maintain the mindset and actions of a true striver. As we step into a new era and usher in a new epoch, remember: happiness is earned through hard work. Let’s roll up our sleeves and give it our all in 2018!
