Hand in Hand for Success—STEP Robotics Hosts the South China Integrator Wealth Summit

On January 12, the first South China Integrator Wealth Summit 2017, co-hosted by Shanghai New Motion Robot Co., Ltd. and Guangdong Lixunda Robot System Co., Ltd., was held with great success at the Hilton Hotel in Guangzhou. The summit was themed “Join Hands for Cooperation—Achieve Success Through Collaboration,” attracting nearly a hundred integrators from across the country who came to the event to discuss potential partnerships and achieve results that exceeded expectations. Ren Yutong, Executive President of the Guangdong Robotics Association; Chen Ritteng, Secretary-General of the Shunde Robotics Association; Cai Liang, General Manager of New Motion Robot; Huo Jintian, General Manager of Lixunda Robot; and senior executives from both companies also attended the summit.

At the meeting, four distinguished guests took to the stage one after another to deliver speeches, all expressing their hope for increased future cooperation, the creation of synergies for development, and the joint promotion of their own growth as well as that of the robotics industry.

Ren Yutong, Executive President of the Guangdong Robotics Association

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Lixunda Robotics, STEP Robotics, and all integrators for your long-term, enthusiastic support of our association’s various endeavors, as well as for your significant contributions to the development and advancement of the robotics industry in our province. The Guangdong Robotics Association will continue to work closely with everyone to accelerate the rapid development of industrial robots in China, thereby making our due contribution to the upgrading and transformation of China’s manufacturing sector and to the successful implementation of “Made in China 2025”!

Cai Liang, General Manager of STEP Robot

Deepening exchanges and cooperation, building interactive platforms, and achieving synergistic development are our steadfast strategic choices. Taking this summit as an opportunity, we will adopt a more open and flexible mindset, a more pragmatic and efficient working style, and principles of integrity and collaboration to create a smarter product series of even higher quality and performance. Together with our extensive network of partners, we will share limitless business opportunities for cooperation and growth, and jointly usher in an even brighter future!

Hu Jin-tian, General Manager of Lixunda Robotics

Cooperation is essential for better addressing competition. After multiple rounds of communication and coordination with STEP Robotics, we’ve come to realize that collaboration allows us to leverage each other’s strengths, achieving win-win outcomes. Furthermore, recognizing each other’s comprehensive strengths, we’ve decided to establish a strategic partnership, working together to co-build our brands, share channels, further optimize our market presence, create synergistic benefits, and enhance our market competitiveness. Lixunda Robotics is eager to grow together with all of you and jointly embrace the next glorious chapter!

Liu Jian, Chairman of Guangdong Guozhe Automation Equipment Co., Ltd.

The past few years, during which we’ve been working closely with STEP Robot, have also been a period of remarkable growth for Guangdong Guozhe. We chose STEP Robot not only because of its reliable quality and outstanding performance, but also because of its well-defined market policies, which have significantly reduced the difficulties and pressures involved in promoting our business. Facts have indeed proven that it’s a great brand. We firmly believe that our partnership with STEP Robot and Lixunda Robot holds tremendous promise, and next year’s market will undoubtedly bear the strong imprint of our collaboration.

Nearly a hundred integrators came to perform a robotic version of “Dream Partners.”

On-site, Cai Liang, General Manager of STEP Robotics; Huo Jintian, General Manager of Lixunda Robotics; Zhang Minliang, R&D Director of STEP Robotics; and He Zexian, Deputy General Manager of Lixunda Robotics, successively provided detailed and insightful introductions on the development history and prospects of both companies, their product and technological advantages, and their preferential sales policies. This enabled integrators to gain a thorough understanding of the companies’ development strength, the application markets for their products and technologies, and the promising outlook of the robotics industry. Many integrators at the event expressed their willingness to collaborate and even signed agreements on the spot, becoming “dream partners” with STEP Robotics and Lixunda Robotics.

Zhang Minliang, R&D Director of STEP Robotics

As a brand-name enterprise specializing in the R&D of robotic hardware, STEP Robotics has, through years of independent innovation, mastered a wealth of core technologies and achieved large-scale production. Meanwhile, Lixunda Robotics, as a benchmark enterprise in robotic industry system integration, has accumulated extensive and outstanding experience in the commercialization and large-scale adoption of robots. This is precisely what enables these two companies to attract so many integrators. We will also join forces with them to create more favorable incentives and policies for integrators.

He Zexian, Deputy General Manager of Lixunda Robotics

After the meeting, some participants also took a field visit to the Lixunda Robotics factory. The integrators and on-site technical staff engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanges on integration systems, gaining a firsthand appreciation of Lixunda Robotics’ extensive experience and impressive achievements in this area.

Integration is the trend—Industry 4.0 is driving trillion-dollar business opportunities.

As China’s demographic dividend reaches a turning point and the era of Industry 4.0 accelerates, the intelligent equipment industry—led by industrial robots—is ushering in unprecedented development opportunities. As of 2016, China had been the world’s largest consumer market for industrial robots for four consecutive years; globally, for every three robots sold, one was sold in China. Rooted in China’s status as a major manufacturing power and nurtured by the vast potential for transformation and upgrading of China’s industrial manufacturing sector toward greater intelligence, the robotics industry is poised to remain robust for a long time to come and will evolve into a trillion-dollar market.

However, at present, industrial robots in China are still predominantly imported from foreign brands. The primary reason for this remains technical challenges—domestic robot manufacturers have so far been unable to break through these barriers and achieve large-scale production of modular robots. For domestic robot companies, focusing on the research and development of integrated robotic application systems and breaking free from the technological constraints imposed by foreign manufacturers is the key to capturing a larger share of the market.

In the view of Huo Jintian, General Manager of Lixunda Robotics, within the trillion-dollar market pie, the market share of system integration is even larger—twice that of original equipment manufacturing. However, due to the unique characteristics of system integration—such as non-standardization, inability to be mass-replicated, and insufficient talent support—most integrators remain relatively small in scale with modest annual revenues, facing intense competitive pressures. Only by pooling resources from all parties can they secure an unbeatable position in the market competition.

Ren Yutong, Executive President of the Guangdong Robotics Association, also believes that the future direction of the robotics industry lies in integration: “Between integrators and robot manufacturers, between integrators themselves, and even with platforms such as governments, universities, and associations—only by sharing resources, complementing each other’s strengths, and leveraging our respective advantages while minimizing weaknesses can we break through the scaling bottlenecks in future development and become solution providers with significant influence and bargaining power.”

The partners sign a tripartite agreement.

At the summit, STEP Robot, Lixunda Robot, and their partners performed a special “golden egg-hatching” ceremony: The three parties placed golden eggs—symbolizing wealth and dreams—into a bird’s nest serving as an “incubator.” On the big screen, the golden eggs hatched into a majestic golden phoenix, symbolizing that the collaboration among the three parties can give rise to limitless business opportunities and fulfill wealth aspirations. It also signifies that the comprehensive integration of the three parties will enable them to soar to new heights in the competitive market.
