“Industry-Education Integration” Writes a New Chapter! Tongji University and STEP Jointly Establish a Industry-University-Research Cooperation Base.

On July 15, the unveiling ceremony for the talent development and industry-academia-research cooperation base between Tongji University and STEP was held in the auditorium of STEP Suyi Road factory. Zhu Qinyue, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Electronic and Information Engineering at Tongji University, and Dr. Jin Xinhai, Deputy General Manager of STEP, General Manager of the Inverter Business Division, and Director of the Enterprise Technology Center, attended the ceremony and unveiled the cooperation base.
Vice Secretary Zhu Qinyue stated that Tongji University and STEP have been collaborating closely for over a year in areas such as faculty training, student internships, and job recommendations. Moving forward, they will continue to expand their cooperation in fields like robotics and intelligent manufacturing, fully leveraging the university’s technological expertise and social resources to undertake R&D projects in electrical, communications, and software technologies for STEP Electric. This collaboration will help STEP cultivate talent, provide a strong force for technological innovation, and, together with the company, jointly promote advancements in academic disciplines and industrial development.
Dr. Jin Xinhai reviewed the collaboration between Tongji University and STEP Group, expressing gratitude for the support and assistance Tongji University has provided in the past. He also introduced the newly established STEP Academy and extended an invitation to Tongji University to join the STEP Academic Alliance. Building on their previous cooperation, the alliance will place particular emphasis on providing outstanding graduates with internship, training, and employment opportunities. Additionally, STEP Group will open up its resources—including its National Enterprise Technology Center, Central Research Institute, and laboratories—to jointly cultivate leading talents in science and technology. Furthermore, STEP Group will invite experts and scholars from the university to deliver lectures at STEP Group.
More than 70 people, including faculty and students from the School of Electronic and Information Engineering at Tongji University, Zhou Guangxing, Deputy General Manager of STEP Group and General Manager of the Robotics Division, and Dr. Chen Wei, Director of the Central Research Institute of STEP Group, attended the unveiling ceremony and toured STEP Group’s Super Robot Factory, the intelligent production line for robot manufacturing robots, the intelligent production line for elevator control systems, the intelligent production line for integrated drive-and-control units, and the CAVE laboratory.
