"Leading a New Era of Laser Engraving for Rubber Tire Robots" Under the theme, we’re showcasing cutting-edge technological achievements—including an intelligent laser engraving solution for rubber tires—at this year’s Guangrao Exhibition, and together we’ll discuss collaboration and jointly explore ways to drive industrial development.
As the tire industry continues to develop, tire manufacturers are increasingly adopting forward-looking production technology solutions, accelerating the intelligent and automated transformation of their product lines and addressing issues such as time-consuming processes, labor-intensive operations, and high material costs.
Against this backdrop, STEP, leveraging its years of accumulated robotics expertise and resource advantages, has stepped up R&D efforts on intelligent manufacturing solutions tailored for the rubber tire industry, achieving a series of practical application results. These solutions meet new demands in areas such as material handling, loading and unloading, and laser marking, thereby delivering value to tire manufacturers and end-users.
In traditional manufacturing, the production processes for pre-embedded cycle tags, steel slips, and vulcanized hollow barcodes heavily rely on manual labor and often suffer from poor quality. By adopting the STEP laser marking solution, we have eliminated the issue of cycle tag overflow, significantly reduced the rework rate, and enhanced product appearance. This approach has completely eliminated the material, labor, and correction costs associated with the previous cycle tag and steel slip processes, improved the utilization rate of vulcanizing machines, and achieved cost reduction and efficiency enhancement. Moreover, the system can automatically interact with the production MES system, generating data automatically and seamlessly integrating the MES and WMS systems, thereby elevating the level of digitalization and intelligence.
This solution was jointly developed in 2020 by STEP and the integrator Gude Intelligent, and subsequently achieved successful large-scale deployment at leading enterprises such as Zhongce Rubber, Linglong Tire, and Sailun Tire. Zhongce Rubber stated that after more than a year of stable operation, it is highly satisfied with the solution’s performance and has recouped its equipment investment in less than a year. The solution is now being rolled out and used across all of the group’s factories.
Looking ahead, STEP will continue to focus on technological innovation in the tire industry and is eager to work together with more integrators and tire manufacturers to explore smarter and more efficient production methods, thereby achieving lean production and management.
