As a physically embodied intelligent robot designed specifically for industrial applications, the SYNDA R1 is built around “industrial-grade” standards and features a full-scale humanoid design. It boasts hardcore capabilities such as high-precision manipulation, round-the-clock continuous operation, and adaptive performance in complex environments, truly enabling seamless deployment from the lab to the factory floor.
As Tian Yongxin, Vice President of STEP and General Manager of the Robotics Division, stated on-site, “The true productivity revolution stems from the deep integration of intelligent technologies and physical execution,” and the SYNDA R1 will mark the starting point of this revolution.

In addition, STEP has simultaneously launched another heavyweight new product on-site—the fully self-developed joint module. This module boasts outstanding advantages such as a lightweight hardware platform, high torque from frameless motors, and excellent core algorithm performance, effectively equipping robots with “robust joints.”

Ding Xinzong, General Manager of the STEP Transportation and Control Division, pointed out: “This joint module will effectively help embodied intelligent robots ‘walk steadily’ and ‘reach far.’”

2. Launching with great fanfare, strategically anchoring the industry’s direction.
During the strategic keynote speech, Liu Changwen, CEO of STEP, stated that over the past 30 years, STEP has focused on technological innovation, with control technology at its core, and has strategically positioned itself across three major business segments, ultimately becoming a publicly listed company and industry leader in the field of industrial automation. Specifically, STEP ranks second globally in market share in the elevator control systems sector; it has emerged as a leading brand in niche segments of industrial automation; and in the industrial robotics sector, it is among the top-tier domestic brands.

As we enter the AI era, STEP is officially embarking on the “STEP 2.0” strategic phase—making a leap from being an enabler of automation to becoming a pioneer in intelligent technologies, and positioning itself as an innovator and leader in the field of industrial intelligence. The company will build an industrial embodied intelligence ecosystem centered around its “intelligent control platform,” connecting upwards to large-scale models and AI brains, and empowering robots and industrial equipment downwards, thereby creating an ecosystem platform for industrial embodied intelligence solutions. At the same time, STEP will adhere to its 16-character strategy—“scenario-driven, hardware-first, software-hardware integration, open ecosystem”—focusing on high-value industrial scenarios and constructing an integrated ecosystem encompassing hardware, products, platforms, and services. This will accelerate the transition of embodied intelligence robots from demonstration stages to large-scale applications, truly delivering tangible productivity value to our customers.
3. Honor Awards Empower Industry Talent Development
At the conclusion of the press conference, the award ceremony for the inaugural “STEP Cup” Robotics Skills Application Competition was held successfully. This online robotics programming competition, open to industry professionals and university faculty and students, has produced numerous outstanding entries, vividly illustrating the dynamic journey of technology—from development to practical implementation. STEP has always believed that the true value of technology lies in nurturing talent and co-creating innovative applications across diverse scenarios. We are eager to join hands with industry partners to help embodied intelligence take root in industry and empower the future.
