On May 23-24, the robotics industry’s premier event—the 15th China International Robot Summit Forum and the 11th Chapek Awards Ceremony—was held with great success in Wuhu. STEP Robotics was awarded the “Annual Value Brand Award.”

At the conference, Ms. Liu Jing, Vice President and Secretary of the Board of STEP, delivered a speech titled “Going with the Flow in the Era of ‘Robotics Plus’,” offering an in-depth analysis of the core trends and technological pathways driving the current development of humanoid robots. She pointed out that embodied intelligence represents a crucial manifestation of AI technology’s transition into the real world. As “brains” (large models, perception, decision-making, and control systems) and “muscles” (high-performance hardware architectures) continue to converge and evolve, the robotics industry is entering a critical window of opportunity for technological breakthroughs and commercialization.

Liu Jing emphasized that, driven by technologies such as large-scale models, reinforcement learning, and simulation training, humanoid robots are gradually evolving toward general-purpose capabilities. However, they still face core challenges including end-to-end control, data acquisition, and the gap between simulation and reality. She further pointed out that the industry’s technological bottlenecks and future core value lie precisely at the “brain” level, and control systems will become the key driving force behind the continuous evolution of robotics.
