　　On the afternoon of January 17, the auditorium at STEP Suyi Road Base sparkled with vibrant lights. The grand “Embrace the Battle of Certain Victory with a King’s Heart” — STEP 2021 Annual Summary and Awards Ceremony was solemnly held here. STEP Chairman Ji Yi, Director and General Manager Wu Yuhui, and 200 employee representatives gathered together to look back on the achievements and honors of the past year and, taking this as a starting point, collectively envision a bright and promising 2022. Also attending the annual meeting as special guests were: Mr. Ji Defa, founder of STEP and Chairman of the STEP Academy; Mr. Yuan Zhongmin, former Vice Chairman of STEP; Mr. Zhu Qianghua, former Director of STEP; and Mr. Su Chongde, former Chairman of Shanghai Huitong Automation Technology Development Co., Ltd. 　　In 2021, the global economy continued its bumpy recovery amid the lingering shadow of the pandemic. Throughout the year, STEP leveraged China’s favorable environment of normalized epidemic prevention and control to stay in sync with industry trends, focusing on customer-centric, profitable growth. Upholding the corporate spirit of unity, determination, and resilience in the face of challenges, STEP pursued a balanced development across five key sectors, accelerating its journey toward high-quality growth.

 

　　At the beginning of the year, we held a goal-pledging rally, marking the start of STEP significant strides forward for the new year. Following that, closed-door meetings in Hangzhou and Shenzhen provided both theoretical underpinnings and practical implementation pathways for building an elite, customer-centric team. In May, STEP solidified its future development direction as: focusing on core businesses, leading in technology, adopting a rational strategic layout, achieving operational efficiency, implementing standardized management, and developing international business capabilities—thus becoming a leading enterprise in our industry!

 

　　In 2021, STEPeng boldly explored and stepped up its innovation efforts, reaping abundant achievements. The national key R&D program on high-efficiency, high-reliability power electronic systems based on SiC power devices successfully passed acceptance testing; groundbreaking advances were made in robotic welding technology; the SC30 motion controller made a stunning debut and was shortlisted for the 2021 China International Industrial Fair (CIIF) Grand Award, becoming one of the 18 top-tier products leading China’s manufacturing sector; and STEPeng Elevator Cloud won the First Prize in the Innovation Award category of the 2021 Invention & Entrepreneurship Award...

 

　　In 2021, STEP reorganized its business strategy and continued to strengthen its presence in niche markets. It pioneered a collaborative front-end sales and office-working mechanism and established its first joint office in Suzhou. The K1 series servo drives were successfully deployed in pharmaceutical production lines. The 20,000th robot rolled off the assembly line, entering key markets such as Japan’s Kao Corporation and China Electric Engineering Corporation, and forging strategic partnerships with companies including Zhongce Rubber and Shanghai General Electric Welding Machines. The Amal service robot made its debut. Building on its strong position in white-body manufacturing, smart manufacturing achieved breakthroughs in general industrial and broader electronics sectors. In 2021, the state released the “14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of the Robotics Industry” and the “14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of Intelligent Manufacturing,” once again clearly outlining the nation’s expectations for the development of the automation, robotics, and intelligent manufacturing sectors. STEP must fully leverage its own strengths, focus on its core business areas, maintain strategic composure, and go all out to secure a foothold in the global market and become an internationally renowned brand in the field of intelligent manufacturing.

We’ve focused on strategic customers, driving business growth, and our new robotic control system business has successfully delivered solutions to multiple clients.
