Event Support | STEP Provides Technical Support for the Finals of the First Shanghai Industrial Robot Technology Application Skills Competition

From December 19 to 20, the first Shanghai Industrial Robot Technology Application Skills Competition—sponsored jointly by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, the Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, the Municipal Education Commission, the Municipal Federation of Trade Unions, and the Municipal Communist Youth League Committee—along with the finals of the 4th National Industrial Robot Technology Application Skills Competition, were held at the Shanghai Institute of Electrical Science. As the technical support provider for this event, Estun Robotics supplied the competition equipment, and Estun’s robotics competition service team was on-site throughout the event, providing technical support and ensuring the smooth operation of the competition equipment.
Opening ceremony venue
For this competition, STEP Robotics provided 26 fingertip spinner assembly workstations, utilizing STEP desktop robots and its sub-brand—Zhongweixing SCARA robots. The workstations incorporate advanced technologies such as machine vision, quick-change grippers, and production-line tracking, comprehensively assessing the contestants’ overall capabilities in electrical engineering, mechanical design, software development, and fault diagnosis.
STEP Robot Fingertip Gyro Assembly Workstation
This is the first industrial robotics skills competition held in Shanghai—the heartland of industrial robotics. The organizers aim to continuously foster the development of skilled talent and better serve the growth of manufacturing enterprises by hosting a high-quality event, thereby driving the high-quality development of the smart manufacturing industry. After preliminary rounds, 50 faculty members and students from 17 institutions—including Shanghai Information Technology School, Shanghai Electric Power College, Shanghai Qunyi Vocational and Technical School, Shanghai Shanda University, Shanghai Industrial Technology School, Xinqiao Vocational and Technical School in Songjiang District, Shanghai Runtuo Modern Technology Specialized College, China Baowu Baosteel Co., Ltd., Passenger Vehicle Company of SAIC Motor Corporation, SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile Co., Ltd., Shanghai Aishida Robotics Co., Ltd., Shanghai Junyi Industrial Automation Co., Ltd., Shanghai Baosteel ArcelorMittal Laser Welding & Joining Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Rouxiao Robotics Technology Co., Ltd.—have advanced to the final round.
