Xiao’ao Kunshan Factory: A Stunning Industrial Landscape

Braving the first thunderstorm of spring, we arrived at the Xia’ao Kunshan factory (STEP Group), an experience that was nothing short of breathtaking.
The first phase of the factory occupies 30 mu of land, almost entirely filled by the factory buildings. The factory is divided into three bays and can simultaneously accommodate the assembly of three robotic automobile production lines. Each line can handle over 100 robots weighing up to 240 kilograms each. The sheer scale, grandeur, and meticulous planning of this project are truly astonishing.
The factory’s design and planning reflect meticulous thoughtfulness in every detail. The work areas are spacious, with natural lighting perfectly balanced; the factory buildings feature natural thermal insulation and heat retention. All electrical wiring and water and steam pipelines are concealed within the building structure, seamlessly integrated into the overall design. Each span showcases a yellow overhead crane set against gray walls and a smooth, mirror-like floor—creating an atmosphere of simplicity, openness, and cosmopolitan flair that you’d typically only find in large-scale enterprises abroad.
As we toured the factory, we saw a car assembly line in the workshop, where more than ninety robots were being assembled and debugged. Workers and technicians, clad in STEP Xia'ao work uniforms and wearing STEP safety helmets with blue lettering on a white background, were calmly and methodically carrying out the final debugging procedures. First-class robots from world-renowned brands, first-class robot control cabinets, first-class car assembly lines, first-class Kanban management, and first-class operational conditions—everything at Xia'ao’s Kunshan factory boils down to two words: “first-class.” Among Kunshan’s enterprises, Xia'ao truly stands out as a striking industrial landmark.
