01 Overview of the 124th Canton Fair
On October 15, the 124th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) officially kicked off in Guangzhou. This year’s Canton Fair features a total exhibition area of 1.18 million square meters, with a total of 60,219 booths and 24,718 participating companies.
At the Canton Fair, buyers from countries along the Belt and Road accounted for 54% of the total number of registered attendees, and trade volumes have already shown a recovery trend. In the first quarter of this year, foreign trade data were particularly impressive: exports and imports to and from the European Union grew by 16.9%, while those to and from the United States rose by 21.3%. The Belt and Road initiative has become a major focus, with rapid growth in trade with several countries along the Belt and Road. Specifically, exports and imports to Russia, Pakistan, Poland, Kazakhstan, and India increased by 37%, 18.7%, 19%, 69.3%, and 27.7%, respectively. Trade with ASEAN also surged, growing by 25%.
02 STEP to Exhibit at the Canton Fair
This year’s exhibition features a total of 744 participating companies from the Shanghai delegation, occupying 3,514 booths. The Shanghai delegation is actively supporting brand enterprises and high-tech enterprises that own their own brands, independent intellectual property rights, and established marketing channels, and is making every effort to facilitate business deals during the exhibition.

It’s widely said that the Canton Fair serves as a “barometer” for foreign trade exports. This year, during the five-day exhibition, STEP came into contact with over a hundred batches of prospective buyers, and buyers’ enthusiasm for inquiries has significantly increased—making this the most successful Canton Fair in recent sessions.
