Young Eagles Set Sail | STEP Holds 2018 New Graduate Onboarding Training Program

In July, STEP welcomed 48 outstanding recent graduates, most of whom graduated from renowned domestic universities such as the prestigious 985 and 211 institutions, as well as top overseas universities in the U.S. and other countries. Approximately 85% of them hold master’s degrees. After more than a decade of hard work, driven by their parents’ expectations and fueled by bright dreams, they’ve gathered at STEP this season, when the lotus flowers exude a gentle fragrance. Thus began Shanghai STEP 2018 “Young Eagles Take Flight” program for new graduates.
On July 17, the “STEP 2018 Fresh Graduate Welcome Ceremony” was solemnly held at the Meiyu Road factory. At the welcome event, President Cai Liang warmly welcomed the new graduates to STEP and then shared his insights on the company’s future development and his expectations for them. Xu Jiansheng, Director of the Human Resources Department, provided detailed explanations on the training directions under the “Young Eagles’ Takeoff” program and offered guidance and requirements tailored to the company’s needs. The atmosphere during the exchange was harmonious and enthusiastic. After the discussion, company leaders posed for a group photo with the new employees.
This “Young Eagles Take Off” program has received strong support and assistance from all departments within the company. During the welcome event, two special sessions—“Senior Student Sharing” and “Mentor Sharing”—featured outstanding senior students and mentors Li Xinghe and Kong Haoyuan, who shared their insights with everyone. Drawing on their own career development journeys, they offered valuable guidance and advice on professional ethics, technical skills, and overall career competence, earning continuous rounds of applause.
To help the new recruits quickly integrate into the company environment and smoothly transition into their new roles, the company specially organized a series of tailored activities immediately after the orientation. These included activities such as "Finding Buddies," "Singing the STEPeng Anthem," "Brain Teasers," "Product Line Sandbox Simulation," and "BP Interactive Sessions." The atmosphere at the event was highly enthusiastic, and everyone participated with great energy. In the end, our ACE team emerged victorious.
The “Young Eagles Take Off” program takes “knowledge, skills, and willingness” as its overarching learning framework and spans a one-year cycle. The development program is divided into four stages—familiarization, learning, cultivation, and growth—to ensure the steady progress of new graduates. Throughout the program, to facilitate effective assessment and timely correction during the cultivation period, we have incorporated various components such as HR interviews, mentorship sessions, and team-building activities. On the job, to help participants adapt more quickly, we’ve arranged internships in workshops and cross-departmental rotations, with guidance provided by designated mentors. In terms of content, to enhance trainees’ understanding of the company’s products, we’ve designed a comprehensive foundational product course...
On July 26, the first product knowledge training session was personally led by Hu Zhitao, the company’s Vice President. First, Mr. Hu gave a presentation on “The Historical Development of STEP Technology,” enabling everyone to gain a clear understanding of the company’s product development journey. During the session, participants were highly engaged and actively participated in interactions with the instructors, diligently studying the product knowledge.
The 2018 “Young Eagles’ Takeoff” program of STEP has officially kicked off. All our colleagues have enthusiastically thrown themselves into their respective learning endeavors. Everyone expressed their determination to quickly integrate into their roles, successfully complete their learning tasks, realize their personal value at their posts, and inject vitality into the company’s development while contributing their own strength.
