Empowering the Tire Industry | STEP Forms Strategic Partnership with Germany’s SICK and Gude Intelligent

On June 6, 2023, STEP signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Shanghai with SICK, a globally renowned sensor brand from Germany, and Gude Intelligent, the pioneer in laser marking for tires. The three parties will engage in in-depth technological collaboration to empower intelligent manufacturing in the rubber tire industry.
Dr. Jin Xinhai, Director and President of STEP, and Mr. Liu Haibo, CEO of Gude Intelligent, led Dr. Mats Goekstorp, Chairman of the SICK Group’s Board of Directors, Director Jiao Feng, and Wang Ping, General Manager of SICK China, on a visit to the STEP Robotics Factory, where they exchanged views on the application of robotic laser marking in the rubber tire industry.
Dr. Mats Goekstorp highly praised the development of China’s robotics industry and expressed great expectations for comprehensive cooperation with STEP in fields such as motion control and robotics. He also lauded the technological innovations being promoted by STEP and Gude Intelligent in the rubber tire industry, and hopes that the three parties will deepen their collaboration to provide valuable smart manufacturing solutions for the rubber tire industry.
It is reported that the laser-engraving workstation for rubber tires, developed through tripartite collaboration, has already received orders from leading domestic rubber tire manufacturers such as Zhongce, Linglong, and Sailun, and has been put into mass production and operation.
