Great news! The STEP frequency converter has successfully obtained the Type Approval Certificate from the China Classification Society.

Recently, the STEP Drive AS710M frequency inverter successfully obtained the type approval certificate issued by the China Classification Society (CCS). This achievement not only signifies that STEP Drive’s products meet the stringent standards of the international shipping industry but also indicates that the company is poised to further expand its market share in the shipbuilding and marine engineering sectors.

STEP frequency converters have successfully obtained the type approval certificate from the China Classification Society. The China Classification Society is an institution directly affiliated with the Ministry of Transport and serves as the authoritative body for ship inspection in China. It imposes extremely stringent requirements on the technical and safety performance of products. The fact that the STEP frequency converter has successfully passed multiple layers of rigorous review fully demonstrates the reliability of the AS710M frequency converter in terms of both technology and quality.

As an innovative product from STEP Group, the AS710M variable-frequency drive has attracted widespread market attention since its launch. Featuring a modular design, its control unit can be equipped with various types of control algorithms, allowing for flexible combinations that meet the diverse application requirements—from the power generation side to the power consumption side in marine applications.

According to data provided by the ship operator, after installing a direct-drive shaft-generator system centered around the AS710M device, the ship can save an average of 1 ton of fuel per day, resulting in daily cost savings of approximately 5,000 yuan. It is estimated that annual fuel savings will amount to 1.25 million yuan (based on 250 operational days per year).

With the gradual strengthening of energy-saving and environmental protection requirements by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), an agency directly under the United Nations, the “MARPOL Annex VI—Amendments Regulation” became globally mandatory on January 1, 2023.

Against this backdrop, the market prospects for STEP AS710M variable-frequency drive are even more promising. As an industry leader in the field of variable-frequency drives, STEP has achieved remarkable success in the R&D of marine variable-frequency drives, leveraging its years of technological expertise and spirit of innovation to continuously create value for its customers. Looking ahead, STEP will remain committed to technological innovation and product optimization, meeting the growing demands of shipbuilding industry users and driving the development of green shipping.
