STEP Zhongweixing Unveils Its New, Clean-Type SCARA Robot—A Major Launch!

With the rapid development of China’s intelligent manufacturing sector, the demand in the industrial robotics market has expanded beyond traditional high-speed and high-precision requirements to include stringent cleanliness standards—particularly in niche industries such as semiconductors, food, pharmaceuticals, glass panels, and precision electronics. ARJ Series Cleanroom SCARA Robot

 

In February 2025, after a year of R&D and iterative improvements, the STEP Zhongweixing SCARA robot product portfolio has once again undergone a major upgrade, officially launching the ARJ series of cleanroom-grade SCARA robots to the market. This new product series continues the outstanding high-speed and high-precision performance of STEP Zhongweixing’s SCARA robots, while featuring uniquely ingenious designs in dust-proof and sealing technologies. With a cleanliness level reaching ISO Class 4, these robots further expand their range of applicable fields.

The ARJ series of cleanroom SCARA robots features an arm span ranging from 500mm to 1200mm and a maximum payload capacity of up to 20kg. Among them, the FR5215B-J suspended-mount cleanroom SCARA model was launched by STEP Zhongweixing in 2022. STEP Zhongweixing’s cleanroom SCARA robot series includes nine upright models and one suspended-mount model, further enriching STEP Zhongweixing’s robust SCARA robot product portfolio.

Ultimate Purity

Made from dust-free materials to eliminate particle generation and ensure a pure, contamination-free production environment. The unique sealing structure and pressure-balancing design effectively prevent the leakage of dust and contaminants.

Note: The difference between a cleanroom SCARA robot and a standard SCARA robot is not only reflected in the presence or absence of a lead screw guard; equally important are the meticulous sealing designs at various detailed locations, such as the overall machine housing, joint connection points, pneumatic tubing connectors, and electrical terminals.

Aesthetic design

The product adopts cutting-edge design principles, combining strength and flexibility while seamlessly integrating modern aesthetics with practical functionality to meet users’ dual demands for both beauty and utility.

 

 

Class 4 Cleanliness Level

Specifically designed for cleanrooms and compliant with ISO Class 4 cleanliness standards, it has obtained a robot cleanliness certification issued by the National Robot Testing and Evaluation Center.

Note: The lower the grade number, the higher the cleanliness level. Class 5 is equivalent to Class 100 cleanliness, while Class 4 represents Class 10 cleanliness.

Equipped with the Zhongweixing QC410 integrated drive and control system, this device delivers high-speed, smooth operation, with a standard cycle time as low as 0.27 seconds and a repeat positioning accuracy of up to 0.01 mm. Leveraging advanced technologies such as vibration suppression, rapid start-stop capabilities, trajectory planning, and higher-order dynamic algorithms, it outperforms its competitors. The device offers a seamless and highly efficient user experience through the Arstudio offline programming and debugging software, perfectly meeting the demands of diverse application scenarios.

Stable and reliable, continuously durable

By using high-quality components and advanced technologies, we ensure long-term stable operation and significantly reduce the failure rate. Among these components, the most critical screw rod protection part features a high-quality bellows cover that boasts exceptional resistance to high temperatures, oils, high vacuum conditions, acids and alkalis, and a wide range of chemicals. The length of the bellows cover can be customized to meet the specific protection requirements of screw rods of different lengths, and it has been tested to withstand over 10 million bending cycles.
