From August 18th to 20th, the "2020 Belt and Road and BRICS National Skills Development and Technological Innovation Competition Elevator Engineering Technology International Competition" was held in Hall 8 of the Shanghai National Convention and Exhibition Center. Secretary-General of the Chinese Secretariat of the BRICS Business Council Xu Chao, Liu Zhenying, leader of the skills group of the BRICS Business Council (Chinese side), and chairman of the Belt and Road and BRICS Technology Development International Alliance, attended the opening ceremony and cut the opening ribbon.

The organizer of this competition is the "BRICS Business Council" and "The Belt and Road and BRICS Skills Development International Alliance", the organizer is the "BRICS Business Council Skills Development Working Group", and the co-organizer is "China Building Research Institute Co., Ltd. Building Mechanization Research Branch", "Beijing Jiake Emerging Technology Co., Ltd." 40 contestants from 23 units including Guizhou AVIC Elevator and Shijiazhuang Railway Vocational and Technical College participated in the competition, among which 5 foreign contestants from Suzhou Vocational University were from South Africa.

After 3 days of fierce competition, the competition came to an end on the afternoon of August 20th. Li Daobo from Guizhou AVIC Elevator won the first place in the enterprise group with a score of 76.05, and Qiu Nian'ao from Shijiazhuang Railway Vocational and Technical College with a score of 71.8 The results won the first place in the student group. Five South African players from Suzhou Vocational University also performed well and attracted a lot of attention in the competition. Among them, the female player Gries performed the most eye-catching and scored 51.55 points. Good results.

The control system of this competition is provided by STEP , including control cabinet, control panel, outbound call box, car top junction box, etc. Yin Jinsong and Zhang Jie, two technical managers from the STEP customer service center, participated in the refereeing and technical support work of this competition, and made contributions to ensuring the reliable operation of the competition equipment.
