On May 23, 2024, the News Bureau of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee organized a press delegation for the “High-Quality Development Research Tour,” during which they conducted an in-depth interview with Neway Robotics Co., Ltd. National Low-Carbon Day | STEP Moves Toward “Green” and Smartly Shapes the Future

The smart factory for STEP Elevator Control Systems was officially completed and put into operation in 2014, located in Nanxiang Town, Jiading District. The factory is equipped with high-level automated systems such as robots, AGVs, automated立体 warehouses, and sorting systems, as well as digital and intelligent systems including EMES, WMS, SRM, and CRM. This enables end-to-end, full-process intelligent manufacturing, significantly enhancing product quality and delivery capabilities. The annual production capacity of elevator control cabinets has reached over 200,000 sets. In 2023, the factory was recognized as a Smart Factory by the Shanghai Municipality.

In March of this year, STEP “Elevator Cloud” service launched an AI-powered camera equipped with battery-powered scooter recognition capabilities. This device leverages advanced image recognition technology; as soon as it detects a battery-powered scooter entering the elevator, it immediately triggers an alarm and uses technological intervention to prevent the scooter from continuing its ascent. Compared to traditional alarm systems, this device not only uploads recognition data to the cloud platform in real time but also features basic video surveillance and audio intercom functions. Through a mobile app or SMS, it can swiftly notify property management and elevator maintenance personnel and record instances of illegal behavior.
