From October 22nd to 24th, the 2nd Guangdong Vocational Skills Competition - Industrial Robot Welding Competition was held in Jiangmen Xinhui Technician College (Gangzhou Campus). The competition attracted 92 welding skill elites from 32 enterprises and schools participate.
The competition is sponsored by Guangdong Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security; China Engineering Construction Welding Association, Jiangmen Xinhui District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, and Jiangmen Xinhui Technician College. After pre-selection, Shanghai STEP Robot Co., Ltd. became the co-organizer of this competition, providing all welding robots for the event, and dispatched professional technicians to provide technical support for the event.
It is reported that the second Guangdong Vocational Skills Competition has the theme of "New Era, New Skills, New Dreams". As one of its 141 competition items, industrial robot welding has brought together outstanding skilled talents from all over the world, aiming to promote exchanges through competitions , promote improvement and development through competition, and stimulate the enthusiasm of enterprise technicians and vocational college teachers and students to learn technology and practice skills hard, and contribute to polishing the "Guangdong Technician" brand.

Master fights, wins by the slightest
Robot welding is highly professional and requires high technical requirements. Contestants in this competition need to be proficient in welding, robotics, programming and other aspects of knowledge and practical operation.
In the practical skills competition, contestants must complete the assembly and welding of Q235 carbon steel plates and round pipes within the specified time. For them, every process such as grinding, assembly, robot programming, welding, and cleaning must not be slack. The welding seam size, external dimension and shape, safe operation, etc. will be the basis for scoring.
STEP provides SA6/1400 six-axis welding robot, as well as welding peripheral products such as welding wire reel assembly, robot base, welding platform, etc.

According to statistics, during each group of competitions, professional technicians of STEP will respond to technical support services 2-3 times. In addition, before the competition, 92 players were divided into three batches for pre-competition theoretical and practical training.

After three days of exciting competition, 34 contestants finally stood out and won the first, second and third prizes in the staff group and student group of this competition. Among them, Zhang Maliang and Wu Zhuobin from Xinhui Technician College won the first prize in the staff group of this competition, while Yu Hanxiang from Xinhui Technician College won the first prize in the student group.
In this competition, we have once again witnessed a group of intelligent young people composing youthful brilliance on the road of robot skills and ingenuity to build dreams.
