167 teams participated in the final
competition, divided into two stages: preliminaries and finals. In the preliminaries, more than 2,500 contestants from 18 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities across the country participated. After layers of selection, 379 players from 167 teams advanced to the final. The finals will compete in 2 competitions of theoretical knowledge and practical operation and 4 groups of elevator installation, elevator maintenance, escalator maintenance and student maintenance.

The contestants with the first overall scores in each group of the competition will be awarded the titles of "National Technical Expert" and "National Youth Post Expert" respectively by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League. The enterprise player who won the first place in the final comprehensive score will be recommended by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions to participate in the selection of the "National May 1st Labor Medal".
